Two men arrested for theft from ATM
South Coatesville police arrested two men in connection with a theft from an ATM.
SOUTH COATESVILLE » Two men have been arrested in connection with a theft from an ATM.
South Coatesville police said Alan Thomas Bryant, 61, was arrested on July 16 and George Edward Diggs, 52, was arrested on July 18, both via an arrest warrant for access device fraud, theft and related offenses. Police said Bryant, Diggs and other codefendants, allegedly deposited an empty deposit envelope into the ATM located at the Citadel Bank on Modena Road in South Coatesville Borough, and subsequently withdrew cash.
DUI
South Coatesville police said Tony Eugene Martin, 20, was arrested on July 30 for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance. Martin was charged with several counts due to the belief that he was reportedly under the influence of both drugs and alcohol, according to police. He was also charged with possession of marijuana and for driving on a suspended license.
Drug charges
South Coatesville police said during an investigatory stop, Maurice Dorsey, 26, was allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana. Charges were subsequently filed on July 30.
Simple assault
South Coatesville police said charges were filed on June 27 against Anthony Salerno, 29, for simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child, stemming from a domestic incident in which Salerno allegedly assaulted his girlfriend and ransacked her home in the presence their 5-month-old son. Salerno allegedly broke the victim’s cellphone as she attempted to dial 9-1-1. A PFA was subsequently obtained in response to the incident.
Police said Salerno reportedly violated the PFA on July 27 by showing up at the victim’s residence where he allegedly verbally abused her and threw garbage all over her front lawn. Charges for contempt of court were filed against Salerno that day for violating the PFA.
