Oxford woman faces drug charges

Andrea M. Trago, 40, of Oxford was arrested and charged with violations of the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device, and Cosmetic Act (Act 64) and with Tampering with or Fabricatin­g Physical Evidence, after the vehicle she was a passenger in was stopped for erratic driving. According to the Southern Chester County Regional Police Department, the incident occurred on July 16 at 12:41 a.m., in the 9000 block of Gap Newport Pike, in New Garden Township. Before the vehicle came to a stop, police observed the rear passenger, later identified as Trago, throw an item behind her. Upon approach of the vehicle, police observed the item to be a makeup bag and it was found to contain ten bags of suspected heroin, as well as heroin related parapherna­lia. Trago admitted that the contraband was hers and admitted to discarding it for fear of being arrested. She was taken into custody, processed, and later released pending issuance of a summons.

Kalimah Z. White, age 45, of Camp Hill was arrested and charged with DUI (Controlled Substances) and related traffic offenses, as well as with violations of the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device, and Cosmetic Act (Act 64), after the 2017 Chevrolet she was operating was stopped for erratic driving. The incident occurred on 07/15/2018 at approx. 10:43 PM, in the 9100 block of Gap Newport Pike, in New Garden Township. Upon making contact with White, police detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle and a partially consumed marijuana cigarette was observed in an ash tray. A Ziploc bag containing suspected marijuana was observed on top of a purse behind the driver. Field sobriety tests showed impairment and White was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and for the drug violations. She was transporte­d to the hospital where she consented to a chemical test of her blood, the results of which are pending lab analysis.

Aidan J. Gartner, 23, of Kennett Square was arrested and charged with DUI and related traffic offenses, following a traffic stop for a stop sign violation and for failing to stay within his lane of travel. The incident occurred on July 17 at 1 a.m., in the 600 block of Hillendale Road, in New Garden Township. Upon making contact with Gartner, police observed indicators suggesting intoxicati­on and field sobriety tests confirmed impairment. He was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and was given an opportunit­y to submit to a chemical test of his breath but he refused.

Gerrod D. Hunter, 28, of Wilmington, Del. was arrested and charged with DUI (Controlled Sub-

stances) and related traffic offenses, as well as with violations of the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device, and Cosmetic Act (Act 64), after the 2004 Dodge he was operating was observed traveling on the shoulder of the roadway and crossing the center dividing lines. The incident occurred on July 14 at. 7:13 p.m., in the 1200 block of Newark Road, in New Garden Township. Upon making contact with Hunter, police were met with the odor of burnt marijuana emanating from the driver’s window.

PARKESBURG

Lauren Besash, 23, of Kinzers, was charged with possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance and related offenses stemming from an investigat­ion in March of 2018. Besash was arraigned on the charges on Aug. 3, by the Honorable Nancy Gill and remanded to the Chester County prison after failing to post the required $30,000 cash bail. A preliminar­y hearing has been scheduled .

Eberto Gomez was charged with DUI after police contact July 27, during a sobriety check-point. Parkesburg Police and the multi-agency Chester County Law Enforcemen­t Intensifie­d Highway Safety Project conducted this safety detail along Pennsylvan­ia Avenue in Avondale Borough on July 27. There were multiple arrests.
