United Way announces 2017 campaign award winners

On Sept. 5, United Way of Chester County will honor local businesses and community partners at their annual Campaign Kickoff & Annual Meeting for their enthusiasm and dedication to its mission to fight for the health, education, and financial independence of each person in Chester County.

Each year the United Way of Chester County spotlights a select list partners that represent the spirit of the hundreds of companies and organizations that support the work of the United Way.

This year’s award recipients include:

PECO-Spirit of Chester County Award

West Chester Area School District-Corporate Partner of the Year

Maryellen Derr at Cakes & Candies by MaryEllen-Community Partner of the Year

Debbie Pierce at Rita’s Water Ice Gap-Community Partner of the Year

Friends Association for the Care & Protection of Children-Agency Partner of the Year

Joscelyn Gilmore, Chester County Intermediate Unit-Workplace Campaign Chair of the Year
