The Exton Region Chamber of Commerce has announced the recipients of the chamber’s 2018 Annual Dinner Awards. The recipients are being recognized for their “positive impact on the region and their dedication to fostering a climate of economic prosperity and diversity,” according to a press release. They will receive their awards at the annual dinner in September.

Dr. Dolly Wideman-Scott, CEO of the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County, has been named the recipient of the Harold Martin Leadership Award. The award recognizes a person from the Exton Region who has achieved a “significant and acknowledged level of success in their career and who has demonstrated leadership and a long-standing, unselfish commitment to improving the quality of life in the Exton region,” according to the release.

Wideman-Scott has led the organization for 22 years, impacting thousands of people “as a direct result of the services received to break the cycle of domestic violence and move on to a positive and fulfilling life,” the release stated.

In addition, she has presided over the lethality assessment program to provide trainings and procedures for police departments that can prevent domestic violence fatalities.

Louis Oswald of Oswald Business Services has been named the recipient of the Small Business Person of the Year Award. The award recognizes Oswald’s contribution to the economy and vitality of the region.

In 10 years in business, Oswald has grown Oswald Business Services from a one-man operation, according to the release, that visited construction sites to see if they were in need of cleanup — to a commercial cleaning service where millions of square feet of space are cleaned on a nightly basis.

Oswald recently expanded Oswald Business Services’ Exton headquarters and warehouse space and has partnered with EZ Pizzi Cleaning to offer residential services in Chester County.

The chamber’s third award — the Sen. Robert J. Thompson Public Service Award, which is normally presented at the annual dinner, will instead be given at

the Annual Review Luncheon in January 2019.

The Exton Region Chamber of Commerce 2018 Annual Dinner will be held Sept. 13 at the Desmond Malvern, a Double Tree Hilton, beginning at 5 p.m. The keynote speaker for the event is Philadelphia Eagles football legend and sports commentator Seth Joyner.

Tickets for the event are $100 per person.
