Cugino’s hat trick helps Henderson blank Garnet

Gianna Cugino registered a hat trick, all unassisted, in West Chester Henderson’s 3-0 nonleague field hockey win under the lights Tuesday night.

Abby Martin had six saves for Henderson to record the shutout, with some help from Liv Griffith and the Warrior defense. BONNER & PRENDIE 2, BISHOP SHANAHAN 1 (OT) » Talia Castle scored for the Eagles, but it was the Friars who pulled off the overtime win. Goalie Amber Bryan made one save for the Eagles. OXFORD 2, RISING SUN (MD.) 1 » Reese Canaday and Alyssa Beauregard overcame the heat to find the net in the nonleague win between cross-border neighbors. Haley Snowden played well in the midfield for Oxford.

HAVERFORD HIGH 6, WEST CHESTER EAST 1 » Mackinzie Thompson scored the only goal for the Vikings in the nonleague loss to the Fords. AVON GROVE 4, RIDLEY 0 » Karlee Wickline had two goals while Emily Van der Mooren and Lizzy Eisenhardt also scored for the Red Devils in the nonleague shutout.
