Fast, casual restaurant adds location
Freddy’s begins construction in Exton area
UWCHLAN » Fast-casual restaurant chain Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, has started construction on a third area location. The new Freddy’s is located at 221 Eagleview Blvd. near Target and is expected to be open by the end of the year, according to franchise owner Steve DiMarco.
The 3,010-square-foot, freestanding location will seat 92, with additional patio seating. Drive-thru service will also be available.
The restaurant — which specializes in cooked-to-order steakburgers, hot dogs, shoestring fries and frozen custard — will bring about 85 jobs to the area, according to DiMarco.
The Uwchlan restaurant will be the third local Freddy’s owned by DiMarco. It joins locations on South Sproul Road in Broomall, which opened in 2012 and on Wilmington Pike south of West Chester, which opened in April 2017.
In an emailed response to questions, DiMarco said that when deciding where to put a Freddy’s, he looks for areas near schools and neighborhoods — where it will be easy to become involved in the community.
“The family-friendly atmosphere in this area, as well as the close proximity to different shopping
and entertainment venues, blend seamlessly with the welcome atmosphere we strive to deliver at each Freddy’s,” he said.
DiMarco, who grew up in Delaware County, added that the Freddy’s brand differentiates itself from others in the marketplace in several areas.
“Starting with our freshly churned frozen custard treats, cooked-to-order lean 100 percent ground beef steakburgers and Vienna Beef hot dogs,” he said. “We
strive to bring more than just another place to eat in the community by making an effort to become familiar with our guests and their stories, as well as their
favorite menu items.”
DiMarco added that there are plans for additional Freddy’s locations.
“Guests are frequently letting us know they want
to see a Freddy’s nearby, driving us to work hard on our development plans for additional locations. We’re always looking for additional locations to expand our presence in Delaware and Chester County,” he said. While plans haven’t yet been finalized, DiMarco said he is looking to secure a site in Brookhaven.
“Our focus will always remain on quality food and friendly service. No matter which location you visit, we strive to provide an exceptional
experience every time you choose Freddy’s,” he added.
Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers was founded in 2002, opening its first location in Wichita, Kan. Today, there are more than 300 Freddy’s restaurants in 31 states. For more information visit freddysusa.com.
