More than two parties in elections

-

I note that in the Daily Local News’ reporting and the opinion column this past Sunday, that the editors feel that there are only two parties with a slate of candidates for the Pennsylvania November elections.

With a bias towards the two major parties, it’s no wonder that there are more people in Chester County that are expected to not vote this year, compared to party voters.

This reflects the mood of the general voting population.

The Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania has the largest slate of candidates on the ballot in years.

Ken Krawchuck, candidate for Governor, and Dale Kerns, running for Senate, are in it to win.

Both are articulate candidates with fresh ideas that will resonate with voters, particularly in Chester County.

Our country is also running a local candidate for the first time in years, Dominic Pirocchi is running for State Representative in District 13.

The nationwide bias against serious public debate starts locally, with your paper.

As a subscriber, I expect you to include the third largest party in our county, and one that is growing while both major parties continue to shrink.

If you want to retain readers like me, and enlarge your subscriber base, you need to speak to the vast number of disenfranchised voters who want to learn about alternatives to improve our lives in Chester County and Pennsylvania. It is easy to find the LPCC on-line at their site and Facebook page, as well as the candidates I have listed, and others. There is no excuse for this type of reporting and slanted editorials.

I, like other readers, expect more of the DLN than the complicity in pretending there are no other parties or candidates on the ballot this year.
