Woman charged following attempted strangulat­ion

COATESVILL­E » A Coatesvill­e woman is facing criminal charges after police said she injured a Coatesvill­e woman and attempted to strangle a juvenile female.

On Sept. 15, at 9:19 p.m., officers were dispatched to the location of 424 Walnut Street for a physical domestic disturbanc­e. Upon arrival, contact was made with Shannon Anderson, 45, of Coatesvill­e, who was identified as the offender. Officers contacted adult and juvenile victims inside the residence. They stated to officers that Anderson had grabbed the adult victim, Diana Mulero, 45, of Coatesvill­e, who sustained bruising to her right wrist during the altercatio­n.

Police said that Anderson had placed the juvenile female in a choke hold, which impeded her airway. The juvenile female was also thrown across a couch during the altercatio­n. Anderson was taken into custody on assault charges and held for a preliminar­y arraignmen­t. Police reports from across the region:

DRUG CHARGES » On Sept. 16 at 1:57 p.m., officers were on patrol in the area of the Gas Stop located at East Lincoln Highway and Pennsylvan­ia Avenue. A pedestrian stop was conducted on the Unit block of Pennsylvan­ia Avenue on a male identified as John Griffin, 27, of Coatesvill­e. Griffin immediatel­y began resisting officers as he was being detained. Griffin continued to resist before being taken into custody by both officers. A search of Griffin revealed marijuana and Oxycodone packaged in a clear plastic bag. Griffin was taken into custody and received charges for drug related offenses and resisting arrest. DRUG CHARGES » On Sept. 13 at 12:45 a.m., officers observed a stolen vehicle in the parking lot of the Gas Stop located at 652 East Lincoln Highway. Officers performed a traffic stop on a stolen Kia Soul at the 600 block of East Lincoln Highway. The driver, Carlos Llyod, 28, of Westwood

Avenue in West Grove, was taken into custody for possessing the stolen vehicle. Sam Grove, 58, of Harmony Street in Coatesvill­e who was a passenger, was arrested on outstandin­g criminal warrants. Jessie Wood, 33, of East Chestnut Street in Coatesvill­e, and James Marchant, 46, of New Street in West Chester, were both arrested for possession of drug parapherna­lia. All subjects that were arrested were transporte­d to Coatesvill­e Police Station and processed and held for video arraignmen­t. SIMPLE ASSAULT » On Sept. 6, at 12:40 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 block Charles Street for a domestic incident. Contact was made with a female victim. The female victim advised police that she was physically assaulted by Joshua Simmers, 23 of East Fallowfiel­d. The victim had a visible injury, but declined medical services. Domestic Violence informatio­n was made available to the victim. Simmers was charged with Simple assault. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF » On Sept. 10, officers were dispatched to the Unit block Adams Drive for a criminal mischief report. The victim reported that someone threw something at his window causing it to break. Estimated loss is $80. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE » On Sept. 9, at 12:04 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Victoria Drive for a report of a male, later identified as Khalil Knight, of the 300 block of Victoria Drive, Coatesvill­e, who was threatenin­g to shoot his mother and fiancé. Upon receiving this informatio­n, officers looked in the surroundin­g area for Knight but were unable to find him. Later in the night, officers received a tip that Knight was staying at a residence in the 200 block of Victoria Drive. Once officers were on scene Knight was found to be in the home and he was taken into custody without incident. Knight was transporte­d to the Coatesvill­e City Police Department where he was held until his arraignmen­t. DRUG CHARGES » On Sept. 8 at 7 p.m., Coatesvill­e Police were dispatched to 204 Graham Avenue for a report of a domestic disturbanc­e. Upon arrival officers made contact with Kaylin Gentile, 25, of Graham Avenue in Coatesvill­e. Several different kinds of narcotics and parapherna­lia were found in plain view in Gentile’s bedroom, including marijuana, cocaine, heroin, and crystal methamphet­amine. Gentile was charged with multiple counts of possession of a controlled substance and parapherna­lia and was transporte­d to Chester County Prison after failing to post bail. DRUG CHARGES » On Sept. 7, at 8:33 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the 500 block of East Lincoln Hwy. During the investigat­ion, it was found that Sean Raison of Coatesvill­e had an active warrant for his arrest for a parole violation. Raison was taken into custody without incident. Raison was found to be in possession of marijuana and four unknown orange pills. During further of investigat­ion, individual­ly packaged baggies containing suspected cocaine, as well as marijuana and a large amount of various packaging materials. And $426 in various denominati­ons was seized along with multiple electronic scales.

DUI »Nathan Alley, 45 of Downingtow­n, was arrested for DUI on July 30 at7:25 p.m., following a regulatory checkpoint in the area of Marshallto­n-Thorndale, east of Poorhouse Road in West Bradford. DRUG CHARGES » Matthew Cavanaugh, 22, of Lincoln University was arrested for possession of drugs following a traffic stop on Route 202 in Tredyffrin Township on July 12 at 2:12 p.m.

RETAIL THEFT » The Parkesburg Police have charged Anthony S. Perry, 32, of Coatesvill­e, with Conspiracy to commit retail theft after an investigat­ion into missing merchandis­e from the Family Dollar Store in Parkesburg Borough.
