Police to conduct sobriety checkpoints this weekend
WEST GOSHEN » Sobriety checkpoints will be conducted in Chester County during Friday, Sept. 21 through Sunday, Sept. 23. The Chester County Impaired Driving Program will conduct the checkpoints on highways that have reoccurring incidents of alcohol-related crashes and arrests. These checkpoints will continue throughout the year at various locations in Chester County where crash and DUI statistics have demonstrated a significant rate of impaired drivers.

EXTRADITION » As the result of police contact on Sept. 5, in the 600 block of West Eighth Avenue, Nicole Lynn Yake was taken into custody and charged. She was turned over to Chester County Prison to await extradition back to Maryland.
Coatesville
WARRANT ARREST » On Sept. 18 at 11:44 a.m., officers observed Rafael Meeks, 43, of Coatesville, who was taken into custody on an active warrant for his arrest. Officers took Meeks into custody where constables picked him up and transported him to Chester County Prison.
BENCH WARRANT » On Sept. 18, at 9:51 p.m., Coatesville Police were dispatched to the area of the 800 block of East Diamond Street for a group of males attempting to fight passersby. Upon arrival, subjects fled the area. After a brief foot pursuit, Josh Johnson, 22, of the 800 block of East Chestnut Street in Coatesville was taken into custody in the 800 block of East Lincoln Highway. Johnson had an active bench warrant and was taken into custody for transport to Chester County Prison.
West Whiteland
FORGERY » Justice Harris, 19, Jahmir Robinson, 23, Monique Davis, 27, and Germaine Lewis, 19, all of Philadelphia, were charged with forgery, theft by unlawful taking and theft by deception. The charges were filed after an investigation into alleged counterfeit bills that were passed at several stores on Aug. 4, 2018. Warrants have been issued for each of the subjects and investigators are trying to determine their whereabouts.
RETAIL THEFT » Darin Urbine, 38, of Downingtown, was charged with retail theft. The charge was filed after an investigation into an alleged $22 theft from the Walmart store on Aug. 22, 2018. Urbine was issued a non-traffic citation.
RETAIL THEFT » Brian Doggendorf, 32, of Downingtown, was charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property on Sept. 6, 2018. The charges were filed after officers responded to the Walmart store for an alleged $107 theft. Doggendorf was arraigned by Judge Bret Binder and released on $10,000 unsecured bail.
RETAIL THEFT » Andrew Garchinsky, 41, of Spring City, was charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property on Sept. 6, 2018. The charges were filed after officers responded to the Boscov’s store for an alleged $177 theft. Garchinsky was released on a criminal summons. RETAIL THEFT » John Lindner, 54, of Downingtown, was charged with retail theft, receiving stolen property and access device fraud. The charges were filed after an alleged $83 theft at the Kohl’s store on Sept. 6, 2018. An arrest warrant was issued for Lindner.
RETAIL THEFT » Susan Dannibale, 60, of Paoli, was charged with retail theft, theft by deception and receiving stolen property. The charges were filed after an investigation into an alleged $28 theft at the Gabe’s store on Sept. 7, 2018. Charges were filed against Dannibale. PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS » Jennifer Warner, 37, of Malvern, was charged with public drunkenness on Sept. 7, 2018. The charge was filed after officers responded to an alleged report of a subject jumping in front of cars on Pottstown Pike. Warner was issued a non-traffic citation and released.
DUI » Patrick Winters, 59, of West Chester, was charged with DUI and traffic offenses on Sept. 8, 2018. The charges were filed after a patrol officer allegedly observed Winters’ vehicle speeding on Burke Road. The officer initiated a traffic stop and made contact with Winters. Winters was arrested after failing field sobriety tests. He was released on a criminal summons. THEFT » Brian Shea, 18, of Glenmoore, was charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property on Sept. 9, 2018. The charges were filed after officers responded to the Target store for an alleged $860 theft by an employee. Shea was released on a criminal summons.
