Michael J. Sabocsik III

Just prior to midnight on the day of his 77th birthday, Michael J. Sabocsik, III died peacefully at Brandywine hospital.

Michael was born in Coatesvill­e, PA to the late Michael and Mary (Cisarik) Sabocsik.

Mike was a machinist at the DuPont Company, Chestnut Run site and retired after 25+ years of service.

Many of his hobbies included hunting, fishing, photograph­y, gardening and sharing his produce with family and friends. One of Mike’s most recent hobbies was making lanyards, keychains and bracelets for the staff at Jenners Pond. He made over 100 green and white bracelets to celebrate Eagles Superbowl win.

He belonged to Camp Klondike and Lancaster Hunting Camps. Mike was a member of St. Gabriels Church and was active in various committies.

He loved the Phillies and Pittsburgh Steelers.

But most importantl­y, Mike loved and adored his family, especially his wife Pat (Verrico) of 54 years, his daughters Michelle Murphy and her husband Ashley and Melissa Maule and her husband Frank. Mike had two grandsons he was very proud of Ian Murphy and his wife Mandi and Nicholas Murphy and his girlfriend Morgan. He recently became a GreatGrand­father to Ian Michael Murphy Jr. who he referred to as “little dude”.

Mike is also survived by a brother Andrew. He wanted to thank his friend Bill.

Mike was an organ donor and will assist the lives of others through his donation.

The family would like to thank the staff at Brandywine hospital for the care they provided to Mike.

You are invited to visit with his family and friends from 10:00 to 12:00 on Tuesday morning, September 25, 2018, at St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother Church, 8910 Gap Newport Pike (Route 41), Avondale, PA. His Funeral Service will follow at 12:00. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Kennett Square, PA
