Harper, Whippets beat East, Shanahan

Thomas Harper shot a 39 to lead Downingtow­n West to a trimeet win over Downingtow­n East and Bishop Shanahan on Monday. The Whippets beat Downingtow­n East 213-218, and beat Bishop Shanahan 213-221. The Cougars beat Shanahan, 218-221.

Adam Wenk (41), Charlie Cliggett (41), Thayer Leshko (45) and Ryan Pinkstone (47) finished the scoring for West. For East, the scorers were Evan Drummond (40), Matt Walsh (40), Ethan Ortner (43), John McClatchy (47) and Andrew McCook (48). For Shanahan, the scorers were Will Gotti (42), Joe O’Malley (44), Jack Hueley (44), Luke Ackerman (45) and Megan Noll (46). OXFORD 231, GLEN MILLS 270, JENKINTOWN 281 » Three Hornets — Matthew Todd (41), Joseph Madden (45), Trevor Dukes-Vincent (46) — fired the top three individual scores as Oxford won the nonleague tri-match at the difficult Golf Club at Glen Mills. Brendan Humphrey (49) and Johnny Fields (50) were the other scorers for Oxford.

UNIONVILLE 181, BOYERTOWN 226 » Charlotte Scully had the low round of the day with a 5-over-par round of 40 at Twin Ponds. Morgan Santaguida (46), Molly Evanko (46) and Meghan Reilly (49) were the other scorers for the Indians (8-1 overall).

GREAT VALLEY 1, WEST CHESTER EAST 0 » Emma Gray scored off an assist from Mary Deitch with five minutes left as the Patriots won the Ches-Mont match. WEST CHESTER HENDERSON 7, SUN VALLEY2» Kate Gordon had a hat trick, Olivia Pritchard had two goals, while Kylee McIlheney and Natalie Miller also had goals in the Ches-Mont win.

Field Hockey

KENNETT 4, UPPER DARBY 0 » Emma Schwarz scored twice and Sydney Thureen and Steph Oleykowski also found the net in the nonleague win for the Blue Demons. Claire Borman had one save in goal for Kennett (2-3 league, 4-5 overall).

DOWNINGTOW­N WEST 7, WEST CHESTER EAST 0 » Jordan Bradley, Holly Koons and Sophia Koons swept the singles matches as the Whippets rolled to the Ches-Mont win. Lily Shi and Divya Kalmady, Kayle Grignano and Lili Zebluim, Kaitlyn Pacheo and Ali Madel, and Allie Campbell and Sydney Minnier won the doubles matches for West. WEST CHESTER HENDERSON 6, RUSTIN 1» Hannah Baxter and Ella Tunnel won the singles matches for Henderson, which swept the doubles courts in the Ches-Mont win. Julie DiCampli at No. 2 singles was the lone winner for Rustin.

The teams of Lauren Knopp and Olivia Zore, Nava Boswell and Nancy McSwain, Madi Bailey and Caroline Carey, and Sophie Ming and Bess Neilblum swept the doubles courts for the Warriors. KENNETT 5, AVON GROVE 2 » Emma Yue, Gina Lusvardi and Sofie Jusvardi swept the singles courts for the Blue Demons in the Ches-Mont win. UNIONVILLE 6, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 1 » Saanvi Garg and Eliza Wilks won at second and third singles as Unionville picked up the nonleague win.

CARDINAL O’HARA 3, UNIONVILLE 1 » Ashlyn Wiswall had 13 assists, Sophie Brenner had 14 kills and Analise Griffiths added eight kills in O’Hara’s 19-25, 27-25, 25-19, 25-20 win over Unionville (4-1, 6-5).

Boys Water Polo

LA SALLE 11, MALVERN PREP 9 » Malvern Prep took an early 3-2 lead but could not hang on against scrappy La Salle. Jake Caulfield was again stellar in goal with 22 saves for the Friars. Jack Cassidy led the Friars with three goals and three assists, while Ryan Cochran and Gavin Kane had a pair of goals and Brennan Robinson had a goal and three assists. Dan Ward also scored for Malvern, which drops to 2-4-1 overall.

Boys Cross Country

GREAT VALLEY 18, SUN VALLEY 45 » Michael Search (19:08.1) and Seth Hoffritz (19:08.4) finished side by side in first and second in the ChesMont League win. Ryan Small, Patrick Mitchell, Max Miller, Pierce Nolan Matt Paolella, Jonathan Sadanaga and Charlie Sita finished fourth through 10th, with only Sun Valley’s William Dykes (third) breaking up the sweep.

Girls Cross Country

GREAT VALLEY 15, SUN VALLEY 50 » The Patriots swept the top 10 spots, starting with Amy Willig (22:42) in the Ches-Mont win. She was followed by Annalise Porreca, Emily Mathews, Julia Hoffritz, Kate Bevec, Cammy Devine, Leilani Silen, Erin Small, Kaya Alber and Skylar Seeley.
