Undefeated Unionville on right track

The Unionville girls tennis team (12-1 overall) remained undefeated in the Ches-Mont after a 6-1 win against visiting Downingtow­n East Wednesday afternoon. At first singles, the Indians’ Leah Walker prevailed in a 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 win against Tali Levine that lasted three hours. At second singles, Unionville’s Eliza Wilks won in straight sets; and at third singles, D-East’s Isabel Dececco prevailed in straight sets. Unionville doubles teams all won in straight sets — Bailey Santaguida/ Faith Ilgner (first doubles), Josie Liu/Meera Sehgal (second doubles), Kate Dobbins/Lovey Black (third doubles) and Riley Moriarity/Mauria Blair (fourth doubles). BISHOP SHANAHAN 4, SUN VALLEY 3» The Eagles won at stright sets at second singles (Nikki Basile), third singles (Michaela Brady), first doubles (Mary Taylor/Gabby Ouimet) and second doubles (Ella Sherman/Caralina Bellwoar).

WEST CHESTER EAST 4, AVON GROVE 3 » The Vikings (77, 6-5) swept the singles matches in straight sets, with Amber Nguyen (first singles), Ting Marian (second) and Jessica Becker (third). KENNETT 7, OXFORD 0 » The Blue Demons won all seven matches in straight sets. In the singles matches, Emma Yue (first singles), Maddie Fowler 9second) and Emma Schmidt (third) lost a combined total of only three games. WEST CHESTER HENDERSON 5, DOWNINGTOW­N WEST 2 » The Warriors won at third singles (Ella Tunnell) and swept the doubles matches at first doubles (Lauren Knopp/Olivia Zoretic), second (Nancy McSwain/ Nava Boswell), third (Caroline Carey/Madi Bailey) and fourth (Bess Neiblum/Sophia Ming). Downingtow­n West won at first singles (Jordan Bradley) and second singles (Holly Koons) in straight sets.
