Howard E. Burnite of Coatesville
Howard E. “Gene” Burnite, 90, of Coatesville died Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Hickory House, Honey Brook.
Born in Doe Run, he was the son of the late William and Manani Copeland Burnite and the husband of Janet E. Pike Burnite, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage.
He was an active member of Olivet United Methodist Church, Coatesville
In 1947, he graduated from Coatesville High School.
He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
Gene retired from Philadelphia Electric Co. after many years of service.
He was co-creator and inducted into the Coatesville Area Sports Hall of Fame and volunteered with Meals on Wheels.
Gene is survived by his wife Janet, and his 3 daughters Debi, Lori (Augie) and Bonnie (Mark); 5 grandchildren, 1 stepgrandson, and 5 greatgrandchildren.
He was predeceased by his brother, Clyde Burnite and sisters: Carolyn Holl and Shirley Ann Burnite.
Gene’s funeral services will be held Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 11:00am at Olivet United Methodist Church with visitation beginning at 9am.
Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Coatesville.
