3 arrested on drug charges in South Coatesville
SOUTH COATESVILLE >> During a patrol on two separate nights, police found a few people in possession of marijuana.
South Coatesville police said Phillip Marshal Whittington III of Coatesville City, was arrested on Sept. 29 and charged with the following: flight to avoid apprehension, false identification to law enforcement, disorderly conduct, possession of a controlled substance and alleged possession of drug paraphernalia. An officer was on routine patrol when he detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from a parked vehicle. Police said after confirming the presence of marijuana, Whittington allegedly fled on foot. Whittington was captured during the subsequent foot chase. He was found to have active arrest warrants against him, according to police. He was arrested and transported to Chester County Prison.
Police said Ahmad Thomas, 21, of East Fallowfield Township, was arrested for possession of marijuana. While on patrol, at nearly midnight on Sept. 21, Officer Adam Sibley came upon Thomas in a parked vehicle on Gibbons Avenue. Officer Sibley detected a strong odor of marijuana. Upon investigation, marijuana was allegedly found to be in Thomas’ possession. He was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. Police said due to the amount of suspected marijuana seized, Thomas was also charged with possession with the intent to deliver.
Charges were also filed against his front seat passenger, identified by police as Nkosi M. Pile, 21, of West Chester Borough. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver.
Simple assault
Police said they responded to a residence in the Southview Townhouse development for a reported domestic dispute on Sept. 30. Police said as a result of visible injury to his relative’s face, Kevin Marcus Frye was charged with simple assault and harassment.
