Milne to host 50-Plus Expo Oct. 20 in Malvern

MALVERN >> State Rep. Duane Milne, R-167, is inviting area senior citizens, their families and their caregivers to attend his 50Plus Expo on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the K.D. Markey Elementary School, 354 Swedesford Road in Malvern.

Exhibitors from local and state agencies, medical organizati­ons and a variety of senior-focused organizati­ons will be on hand to share their expertise and informatio­n on services and issues important to seniors. The public is urged to come take advantage of the many free health screenings available.

“I urge all older residents and their family members to attend this highly informativ­e event,” Milne said. “This event will help seniors learn more about the services and programs available to help them lead more active and productive lives.”

Among the many exhibitors scheduled to attend are Smith Auctions, which will appraise up to three items per person; the Forty-Niners Chorus; Acme, which will provide pneumonia vaccines (bring your insurance cards) and pertussis tetanus diphtheria vaccines; Rite Aid, which will provide flu vaccines both regular strength and high dose; Patient First, which will perform blood pressure screenings at no charge; Upper Cervical which will be providing spinal screening; and Surrey Services, which will provide memory screenings at no charge.

The Chester County Sheriff’s Department will also be there to safely collect unused prescripti­ons and other medicines.

TMAAC will be there to help seniors apply for the SEPTA Key Senior ID Card and have their photos taken. Participan­ts are asked to bring a valid stateissue­d ID.
