WEST CHESTER >> The Landmark Americana Tap & Grill of West Chester raised $19,210.24 to support children facing homelessness, during its fourth annual Golf for Kids golf tournament.
Seventy-six golfers participated in 18 holes of scramble golf at the Broad Run Golfers Club Sept. 24, raising funds for homeless and near homeless children in Chester County.
“The Landmark Americana Golf for Kids event was a huge success this year,” Catherine Friedman, Friends Association for Care & Protection of Children executive director said in a press release. “The weather was perfect. The golf course was in spectacular condition and we’re already looking forward to next year’s event. Thanks to all the Landmark Americana and Vanguard employee volunteers who put it together.”
Tournament participants enjoyed a variety of competitions in addition to 18 holes of scramble golf tournament play. Activities included a “Closest to the Pin” competition, “Longest Drive — Men” and “Longest Drive — Ladies.”
“It is such an honor to be able to host members of the local community and supporters of the organization in our annual golf tournament,” Kyle Veale, Landmark Americana Tap & Grill director of operations said in the release.
“We are so lucky to be able to play such an outstanding golf course in the area and work with the hard working staff of Friends Association
for Care & Protection of Children.”
Friends Association promotes the independence of families with children by providing shelter, programs and services that prevent and end homelessness in Chester County. Last year, the organization saved 122
families and 270 children from homelessness, according to the release.
