Gov. Tom Wolf is coming to Coatesville Sunday to support the Democratic candidate for state representative.
COATESVILLE >> Gov. Tom Wolf is coming to Coatesville Sunday to support Democratic state representative candidate Dan Williams. Williams was recently endorsed by the governor and former President Barack Obama. He adds these to his endorsements by state Sen. Andy Dinniman, D-19, the Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA), American Federation of Teachers, Pennsylvania AFL-CIO, Planned Parenthood, National Association of Social Workers, and Pennsylvania American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). These are in addition to the many endorsements he has received from other organizations, local elected officials, area Democratic organizations and many prominent leaders in the community.
Wolf will be in Coatesville Sunday afternoon to support Williams and other Chester County Democratic candidates. He will be visiting Williams’ church, New Life in Christ Fellowship, 1 South 5th Avenue, Coatesville, PA 19320; at 4 p.m. All are welcome to attend, but admission and seating will be limited and first come, first seated.
“Dan is a true advocate for working families and the constituents of the 74th District,” said Wolf, who is running for re-election to his second term as governor. “Harrisburg politicians are stuck in their ways and Dan Williams is a fresh voice in politics that will bring the kind of change we need to benefit seniors and the working people of Pennsylvania”.
Williams, known to many as “Pastor Dan”, has been Senior Pastor at New Life in Christ Fellowship in Coatesville for more than 28 years. Williams supports Wolf’s agenda of creating jobs that pay sustainable salaries, schools that provide an equitable education and government that works. His legislative priorities also include holding the line on increasing property taxes, fighting the opioid crisis and rebuilding our failing infrastructure.
“I appreciate the endorsements of Governor Wolf, President Obama, and so many others,” Williams said. “Doing what is right for all raises the tide for each of us – and leads to prosperity for everyone. I’m a strong advocate for working families and senior citizens because I fully understand the devastating consequences of skyrocketing property taxes, job loss, wage disparity and living on a fixed income,” explained Williams who describes himself as a professor, pastor, father and also a taxpayer and a citizen.
Williams is the Democratic candidate for the 74th House District – an open seat with the retirement of Republican Rep. Harry Lewis Jr. Amber Little-Turner is the Republican candidate for the 74th District. She previously worked as a constituent outreach specialist for Lewis.
The 74th District includes the municipalities of Caln, East Caln, Coatesville, South Coatesville, Downingtown, East Fallowfield, Modena, Parkesburg, Sadsbury and Valley Township.
