Ruth Raibley of West Chester

Ruth Raibley, the wife of the late Lewis A. Raibley, Jr. with whom she shared 41 years of marriage, died peacefully on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at Paoli Hospital.

Born in Philadelph­ia, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Ruth H. Barringer.

Ruth graduated from Overbrook High School in 1947. A talented singer, Ruth sang in many churches throughout Philadelph­ia during her late teens and early 20s. Ruth’s faith was strong and she devoted her life to the service of her family and church.

She was an active member of the West Chester United Methodist Church and sang in the Chancel Choir for over two decades. She was also involved with United Methodist Women and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. In addition, she was involved with the Greater Federation of Women’s Club of West Chester where she served a two year term as president.

She is survived by her two daughters, Ruth Osborn (Jim), Louise Claney (Dan), and her two sons, Lewis Raibley, III (Pat) and John Raibley. She is also survived by her seven grand children, Alexander Osborn (Hayley), Valerie Milardo (Brandon), Jason Claney, Meghan Seay (Derek), Lewis Raibley, IV, Zachary Raibley, Benjamin Raibley and one great grandson, Henry Coyte Seay.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 29, 2018, at West Chester United Methodist Church, 129 South High Street, West Chester, PA 19382, where the family will receive guests starting at 9:30 a.m.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to West Chester United Methodist Church or New Century Club of West Chester.
