Eight Chesco arts groups to receive more than $12,000 in funding
WEST CHESTER >> Last month the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance announced the distribution of $12,031 in Pennsylvania Council on the Arts (PCA) Project Stream grants in Chester County.
Project Stream grants provide funding to individual artists and organizations offering innovative, community-based arts projects in southeastern Pennsylvania and are made possible through the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts’ (PCA) Partners in the Arts program. The program enables PCA to reach a wider audience by increasing access to funds for organizations and artists across the state, thereby increasing statewide audience exposure to cultural activities. In total, the Cultural Alliance distributed $95,434 to 79 arts groups across the five-county Philadelphia region.
“The Cultural Alliance is proud to be the largest regional partner of the Pennsylvania Council of the Arts,” said Maud Lyon, Cultural Alliance president. “Project Stream allows us to help local organizations and artists fund their creative projects and empowers them to have economic, cultural and social impact in their communities.”
Project Stream provides grants of up to $2,500 to eligible organizations and individuals conducting arts projects in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties. This year eight individual artists and nonprofit organizations from Chester County received funding, with an average award of $1,503.88.
