Woman, 38, fatally shot in home

The victim, identified as Sylvia Williams, 38, of Pottstown, sustained an apparent gunshot wound.

POTTSTOWN >> A 38-yearold woman was shot and killed in a second-floor bedroom of her home Sunday night, authorities said Monday.

At 6:43 p.m. on Sunday, the Pottstown Borough Police Department responded to 351 N. Washington St., for a reported security alarm. Upon entering the home, a deceased female was located in a secondfloor bedroom.

The victim, identified as Sylvia Williams, 38, of Pottstown, sustained an apparent gunshot wound, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.

An autopsy was scheduled to be performed at the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office on Monday.

A joint investigation into the homicide by the Montgomery County Detective Bureau and the Pottstown Police Department indicates that this homicide occurred during an apparent home invasion robbery.

Police have not released any other details at this time.

Detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify any suspects.
