Man arrested after trying to lure ‘teen’ for sex
SOUTH COATESVILLE >> A Lancaster County man has been arrested after he arranged to meet a police officer posing as a 14-yearold female to engage in sex acts.
Earl Ressell Hummel, of New Holland was arrested Nov. 15 at 7:50 a.m. by state police following a joint investigation with the Computer Crime Task Force.
Police said that on Nov. 14, Russell made contact via an internet messaging application with a police officer posing as a 14-year-old girl. He arranged to meet the child victim to engage in sex acts, police said.
On Nov. 15, Hummell drove his marked work van from his home in New Holland to the agreed-on meeting location outside the child victim’s purported residence in South Coatesville. He was apprehended by authorities without incident.
Hummel is currently at Chester County Prison awaiting arraignment on felony charges including unlawful contact with a minor, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and criminal use of a communication facility.

STRANGULATION >> Rodrigo Sanchez-Hernandez, 25, of Oxford was arrested and charged with aggravated and simple assault, strangulation, and related offenses, following a physical altercation that resulted from a verbal argument, police said.
According to Southern Chester County Regional Police, the incident occurred on Oct. 22 at 8:52 p.m., in the 300 block of Scarlett Road, in New Garden Township. Sanchez-Hernandez was located by Oxford Borough Police. He was processed and held for arraignment, after which he was initially committed to the Chester County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail. He later posted bail and was released.

DUI >> On Nov. 13, at 1 a.m., police received a report for a vehicle on the sidewalk in the 500 block of East Lincoln Highway. A grey Jeep Cherokee was located on the sidewalk on the eastbound side of East Lincoln Highway. A man was observed standing on the driver side of the vehicle with the door open. The man appeared to be unsteady on his feet and confused. Officers made contact with Gerard Geter and immediately detected the odor of PCP. ASSAULT >> On Nov. 17, at 6:38 p.m., police were dispatched to the 1300 block of East Lincoln Highway for the report of a physical altercation. An argument occurred between Aquia Pennington and the victim. Pennington admitted to grabbing the victim by the neck, placing him in a headlock and they fell to the floor. Pennington got up and attempted to throw a pot of boiling water on the victim. In the process, a second victim was hit in the right hand with the hot water, burning him. Pennington, 23, was arrested for simple assault and harassment. BURGLARY >> On Nov. 17, at 7:40 p.m., police were dispatched to the 500 block of East Chestnut Street for the report of a theft. The victim reported that her ex-boyfriend, Brenden Thompson, 38, entered the house when she was gone, took $60 dollars and left. Thompson, who did not have permission to be at the residence, was located and arrested. Thompson was charged with burglary, theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. DUI >> Police were dispatched to the area of North First Avenue and East Lincoln Highway for the report of a two-vehicle crash. While in the police station parking lot, police heard the sound of a vehicle moving at a high rate of speed going eastbound on either East Lincoln Highway or East Harmony Street. A dark green Jeep Cherokee was located in the intersection of Harmony Street and South Third Avenue that had struck a fire hydrant and knocked down the stop sign on the southeast corner of South Third Avenue and East Harmony Street. Following an investigation, Juan CarlosCruz-Pedrosawas, 26, was arrested for suspicion of DUI and transported to the State Police barracks at Embreeville to conduct a breath test. SIMPLE ASSAULT >> On Oct. 20, at 5:17 p.m., police were dispatched to the unit block of Chester Avenue for the report of two females fighting outside. Officers made contact with the victim who was bleeding from a split lip and she stated that she was assaulted by a Brandi Green. After a brief investigation, Green, 23, was charged with simple assault. ASSAULT >> On Oct. 2, at 7:25 p.m., officers were dispatched to 715 East Lincoln Highway in Coatesville for the report of an assault. Contact was made with the victim, who stated that Anthony Washington, 55, had punched him in the face several times. Swelling and redness was observed on the victim’s right cheek as well as redness in his left eye. Washington was taken in to custody and charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct. ASSAULT >> On Oct. 2, at approximately 7:25 p.m., officers were dispatched to 715 East Lincoln Highway Coatesville for the report of an assault. While on location, surveillance video of the incident was reviewed which showed Dion Wilson, 58, and the victim engaged in an altercation. Wilson was observed punching the victim in the face. The two men began fighting inside the establishment. Wilson was charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct. The victim was also separately charged for the same. HIT AND RUN >> On Nov. 16 at 8:19 p.m., officers were dispatched to a report of a hit-and-run accident in the 300 block of South First Avenue. Upon arrival officers made contact with Aaronia McDaniels, 23, who stated that while she was attempting to park her vehicle, a black Jeep struck her from behind. The operator was in his 50s and fled the scene prior to exchanging any information with McDaniels. There were no injuries to McDaniels. Anyone with information on the operator is asked to contact the Coatesville Police. PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS >> On Nov. 3, at 10:16 p.m. officers were in the 700 block of East Lincoln Highway handling a stabbing call. William Knight, 53, was on location stumbling and trying to involve himself in the scene. Knight was told numerous times to back away and refused. Knight was arrested for public drunkeness.
