Anna Grant of Coatesville
Anna Cooper Grant, 102 years, (she liked to be called Anne), passed away at Garden Spot Village on November 15, 2018. She was the wife for 62 years of C. Kenneth Grant who passed in 2003.
Born in Honey Brooke, PA she lived most of her life in Coatesville, PA. Anne graduated High School in 1935, and West Chester State College in 1939.
She taught elementary school for the Coatesville area school system for 35 years. She was an accomplished musician; singing in choirs in High School, College, and Church. She also served as the pianist for High School, College and Church organizations. Anne also taught Sunday school for many years.
Anne was socially active; she was a life time member of the Coatesville Presbyterian Church, a member of the Junior Century Club, the Town and Country Garden Club and the Library Association of Coatesville. In addition, she volunteered for the American Red Cross at Brandywine Hospital and she was also an accomplished artist and won many awards in local, state, and national Art exhibitions.
Anne was preceded in death by her husband C. Kenneth Grant, her sister Alice Behrndt, and her Brother Rodger Cooper. She is survived by her son Vernon K. Grant married to Donna S. Grant, her daughter Susan G. Canniff married to Patrick Canniff, 8 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Services will be held on Saturday December 1st, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Garden Spot Village Chapel 433 S. Kinzer Ave, New Holland, Pa, friends and family may call beginning at 10:30. Interment will be at 2:00 PM in Fairview Cemetery, Coatesville, PA.
