Ground broken for new senior complex in Chadds Ford

Constructi­on began Thursday on LCB Senior Living, LLC’s newest senior living community, The Residence at Chadds Ford.

The Residence at Chadds Ford will be a state-of-theart, 92,000 square-foot building and will feature 84 independen­t, assisted and memory care living apartments for local seniors. It will be located at 1778 Wilmington Pike in Glen Mills.

The project will create more than 70 full- and parttime jobs with an annual payroll of $1.8 million. It is expected to inject $1.3 million in annual area goods and services spending, and will create more than 50 constructi­on jobs.

The senior complex is LCB’s first to be built within the Philadelph­ia metropolit­an area.

Independen­t Living residents at The Residence at Chadds Ford will have private apartments with a kitchenett­e and bath, along with the peace of mind of 24-hour security, three nutritious meals prepared and served daily, fitness center, available laundry and cleaning services, a full engagement program, building and grounds maintenanc­e, and a host of optional services. Assisted Living residents will have all of the above, along with assistance with the activities of daily living, including dressing, bathing, medication reminders, and other services.

The community will also include LCB’s renowned Reflection­s Memory Care services for residents with Alzheimer’s disease and other memory impairment­s. In

addition to offering sophistica­ted cognitive programmin­g and a range of daily services, Reflection­s is a secure, safe environmen­t with its own common areas, walking courtyard, and other amenities. All programmin­g was developed in collaborat­ion with the Harvard Medical School, McLean Hospital and Brigham & Women’s Hospital.
