The graduates can now take the NCLEX examination to become Licensed Nurse Practitioners (LPNs).
DOWNINGTOWN >> Friends and family gathered this past December to congratulate 17 newly graduated practical nursing students from the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) Practical Nursing Program. The graduates can now take the NCLEX examination to become Licensed Nurse Practitioners (LPNs).
These graduates represent the 123rd class to graduate from the Technical College High School (TCHS) Brandywine Campus.
The ceremony began with Dr. Francis McKnight, principal of TCHS Brandywine, welcoming and congratulating the graduates on their achievements, and PNP director Nancy Haughton presenting the class, which included the cohort valedictorian Erin Walmer and salutatorian Dorothy Berhndt.
Downingtown’s class president Danet Gallagher lead the class in the Practical Nursing Pledge and then introduced guest speaker Jennifer Madden, LPN, who is a 2013 PNP graduate from the Brandywine campus, an accomplished Army veteran and a practicing LPN at Coatesville Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Madden offered congratulations and encouragement to the class.
Following Madden’s remarks, 11 students were inducted into the National Association of Licensed Practical Nurses, Inc. Honor Society.
In addition to the TCHS Brandywine Campus in Downingtown, the CCIU’s Practical Nursing Program also has cohorts at the TCHS Pennock’s Bridge Campus in West Grove and the TCHS Pickering Campus in Phoenixville.
