U.S. Marshals: Wanted Coatesville doc may be homeless
WEST CHESTER >> Authorities are still looking for a Coatesville doctor accused of illegally prescribing opioids, and they now believe he may be homeless and living in Bucks County.
Marcus Rae Williams, 60, is wanted by the U.S. Mar- shals Eastern Pennsylvania violent Crimes Fugitive Task Force. He is one of 13 indicted doctors and physicians assistants indicted last week with illegally operating a “Pill Mill.”
Federal officials are trying to locate a doctor charged in connection with an illegal pill mill opera-
tion. Authorities say Marcus Williams, 60, may be homeless and in Bucks County.
Williams, whose last known address was along the 600 block of east Gay Street in West Chester, is described as 6-feet-tall and weighs 190 pounds and has hazel eyes and a bald head with a tattoo on the right side of his neck.
Williams was charged with a multitude of crimes, including conspiracy to dispense and distribute controlled substances outside the course of professional practice and without a legitimate medical purpose; distribution of oxycodone; health care fraud; and maintaining drug-involved premises.
Authorities say that Williams and other Advanced Urgent Care medical providers unlawfully prescribed opioid painkillers on a daily basis from January 2014 through August 2017 and ignored warning signs that patients were abusing or selling their prescription painkillers.
In addition, authorities say those charged, including Williams, offered a “pain management” plan to the public that enabled them to get opioid painkillers for a simple office fee ranging from $80 to $140.
Williams is one of the last co-conspirators in the multi-defendant indictment. Anyone who has seen Williams or knows his location should call the U.S. Marshals tipline at 1-866865-TIPS(8477). All calls are kept confidential.
