PennDOT to resurface roads in Chester County next week

Motorists will encounter lane restrictions on several state highways across the Philadelphia region for resurfacing operations as a part of several projects to repair and resurface more than 200 miles of state highway in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced.

In Chester County, the work schedule and locations are:

• Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., lane restrictions are scheduled on Route 82 (Manor Road) between Hibernia Road and Chestnut Street in West Nantmeal and West Brandywine townships and Elverson Borough for paving operations;

• Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., lane restrictions are scheduled on Oakbourne Road between Concord Road and Beechwood Road in West Chester Borough for milling and paving operations;

• Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., lane restrictions are scheduled on Goshen Road between Sugartown Road and Warren Avenue in Tredyffrin Township for milling and paving operations;

• Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., lane restrictions are scheduled on Goshen Road between Grubbs Mill Road and Boot Road in Newtown Township for milling and paving operations.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under these improvement projects, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surface and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.
