Affordable homes subject of 2020 Citizen Planners meeting

- MediaNews Group

WEST CHESTER >> Finding an affordable home in the West Chester area can be difficult as salaries aren’t sufficient to purchase a property in many instances.

A panel of area professionals will discuss the important issue during a Chester County 2020 Citzen Planners’ breakfast on Wednesday, Aug. 21 at the West Chester University Graduate Center, 1160 McDermott Drive, West Chester. Doors open at 7 a.m. and a buffet breakfast will be served. The program begins at 7:20 a.m. and concludes at 8:45 a.m.

“Finding homes in the communities where they work is difficult,” said Chester County 2020 Chair Jock Hannum. “The housing issue touches on all segments of our residents. This is true for new graduates starting their careers, those living on fixed incomes, seniors, empty-nesters downsizing and folks who provide services and amenities we all rely on.”

Taking part in the discussion will be Derek Davis, assistant township manager of West Goshen, Malcolm Johnstone, executive director of the West Ches

ter Business Improvement District, and Kathy McQuilkin of Suburban West Realtors Association. The moderator will be Tommy Ciccarone of Precision Realty Group, LLC.

The cost of the program is $25. To register, go to http://
