Vehicles vandalized, tires slashed in West Bradford

WEST BRADFORD » Several vehicles were vandalized and tires slashed in West Bradford Township during the evening hours of Feb. 9 or early morning hours of Feb. 10, police said.

The crime occurred at 1317 Stayman Street. Four vehicles were vandalized: A 2013 Volkswagen Jetta, a 2019 Dodge Ram truck, a 2015 Hyundai Elantra and a 2012 Mazda 6.

Police said someone opened the door of one of the unlocked vehicles and stole a set of keys, one belonging to a Dodge Ram 1500 and one to a Harley Davidson motorcycle, and a silver house key. Multiple books were removed and they were thrown on the ground next to the unlocked vehicle.

Two rear tires of the Jetta were slashed, one rear tire of the Mazda was slashed and one rear tire on the Elantra was slashed.

Brendan Caffro, 19, of East Fallowfiel­d was arrested on drug charges following a traffic on the Route 30 Bypass near West Clover mill Road on Feb. 9.

Sex abuse

Police received a child welfare report alleging sexual abuse of a 16-yearold girl in West Bradford Township. Police are investigat­ing the report.

Harassment

Ashley Kurz Caplan , 36, of Malvern was arrested for harassment following a verbal argument with a 40-year-old woman from Paoli on Feb. 14. Police said Caplan allegedly struck the victim with an open fish on the right side of her face and neck.

Drug charges

Trevor MacCloskey, 19, of Pomeroy was arrested for possessing a small amount of marijuana following a traffic stop Feb. 4 on North First Avenue in Coatesvill­e.

Westtown-East Goshen

Theft

On Feb. 22 at 3:50 p.m., a Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Officer was on patrol in the area of Stetson Middle School, Westtown Township. The officer observed a man later identified as Lucas Nathan Wagner on the school property who was wearing a dark colored clothing and carrying a book bag. Wagner was running south through the parking lot towards the wood line, and failed to stop when the officer activated the overhead lights and siren and used the PA. Wagner was apprehende­d and was found to be in possession of a book bag containing a laptop, a clutch purse, and money. Those items had been removed from the victim’s unlocked vehicle that was parked in

the driveway of a residence in the Pleasant Grove developmen­t, Westtown Township, Chester County, Pennsylvan­ia. Wagner was remanded to Chester County Prison after failing to post

$20,000 cash bail. West Chester

Theft

On Feb. 18 at 6:32 p.m., an employee of Sam’s Pizza Island at 445 Hannum Avenue reported that a Hispanic male just stole her vape device off of the counter inside the store. The man was identified as Hector Lopez, 31, of Philadelph­ia and was later taken into custody for theft and receiving stolen property. Lopez was transporte­d to the prison on outstandin­g warrants from Chester, Montgomery and Philadelph­ia Counties and was arraigned on the charges.
