A Havertown man was reportedly killed Monday in Bradford County after lightning struck an aluminum ladder he was touching.

Jason Gamba, 43, was one of two people killed by the lightning strike Monday afternoon when a thunderstorm moved through the Granville Summit field where he and three other men were constructing a deer stand. Craig Kelemen, 34, of Bangor, Northampton County, was the other victim, according to reports.

Bradford County Coroner Thomas Carman said in news accounts that the men were working on the structure about 1:45 p.m. when the fast-moving storm overtook them. They took shelter under a wooden platform with an attached ladder. The lightning struck the ladder, which Gamba and Keleman were touching at the time, said Carman.

Gamba and Keleman were declared dead at the scene. The two other men, father and son John and Joseph Maiale, of New York, were also injured.
