Suspects in home shooting captured
PENNSBURY » Two men who remained at large for more than three months following a shooting at a home in Pennsbury Township were taken into custody this week.
Arrested were Joseph Daniel Perkins Jr., 40, and Robert Rahim Parker, 26.
According to state police at Avondale, the crime took place at the 2000 block of Street in Pennsbury Township on April 5 just after midnight.
Police responded to the scene for a shooting, and upon arrival, troopers immediately rendered medical aid and the victim, who
was transported to Paoli Hospital. Several members from the Criminal Investigations Unit later arrived on location and assumed the investigation. Through the initial investigation, it was determined that a struggle ensued within the victims residence. During the struggle, a gunshot was fired going into the victim’s neck, police said.
Around the same time of the shooting, it was reported to police that two men were observed running through the woods away from the victim’s residence. Investigators were able to determine that there were three men who were involved and that Zachary Christian Harrison, 19, who was known to the victim, was one of them.
While continuing the investigation, Harrison arrived back at the scene and was taken into custody. Harrison was remanded to Chester County Prison and the investigation continued as the identities of the other men involved were unknown.
Through a thorough and complete investigation, the Criminal Investigations Unit was able to gather a significant amount of evidence to obtain arrest warrants on July 15. The warrants were for attempted homicide and other related charges for both Perkins and Parker
With the assistance of the Pennsylvania State Police Fugitive Task Force, both Perkins and Parker were taken into custody quickly and without incident. Both were remanded to Chester County Prison to await a preliminary hearing.
