Trump unable to fix a broken America

Like many of our neighbors here in Chester County, I was shocked by the depiction of our country during the Republican National Convention last week. While Donald Trump continues to deceive, divide, and discriminate, here in Chester County we have come together against his failed policies and absent leadership.

We are making progress in the battles against Covid-19, the fight for social justice, and so many other issues that impact the daily lives of people Donald Trump cares nothing about.

While Republicans crammed together thousands of maskless superspreaders in an unprecedented display of partisanship on the lawn of the people’s house, we are left paying the price. As our businesses struggle to stay afloat, parents balance school, work, and life, and our citizens follow sciencebacked mask and social distancing rules, irresponsible Republican delegates and elected officials now come back to our communities, extending the length of sacrifices the rest of us need to make.

We know America can do so much better than Donald Trump and his Republican enablers. We know this because we have seen it here in Chester

County under our Democratic elected officials. We know this because we have seen it in Pennsylvania under Governor Wolf.

And we know this because we have seen it under Barack Obama and Joe Biden. Try as they did, the Republican Convention couldn’t wipe away the reality of the past four years.

Donald Trump would have us believe he can fix America. I wonder who he thinks is president right now.
