KING OF PRUSSIA » The King of Prussia District is getting ready to roll out a second round of its gift card flash sale — Get More, KOP. Round two gets underway on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at noon, with 1,000 upgraded gifts cards available for King of Prussia businesses.

The second flash sale comes on the heels of the success of round one, which launched Aug. 4, and that saw 1,000 gift cards sell out in 27 hours.

“I think the community is eager to get back to all that they love in KOP, and also support their favorite businesses. In a promotion like this, everyone wins,” said Rachel Ammon, marketing and communications director for King of Prussia District.

The initiative was designed to drive foot traffic back to King of Prussia restaurants, retailers, hotels and attractions, according to Ammon, and provide the businesses with a quick burst of gift card sales.

“We anticipate that when people redeem their gift cards, they will spend a little more, helping the businesses a second time,” she added.

The second flash sale will feature all of the businesses from round one, as well as a number of new participating businesses, according to Ammon. As of noon on Friday, Sept. 4, that list included 39 businesses.

In round two, 1,000 gift cards for King of Prussia restaurants, hotels, fitness centers, attractions, retailers and service providers will be sold on VisitKOP. com/getmoreKOP. The cards will be sold for $25 each and will be upgraded to a value of $35, courtesy of King of Prussia District and sponsors Kohler Signature

Store by Weinstein Supply, Riley Riper Hollin & Collagreco, The Discovery Labs, Kravco Company LLC and Unruh Turner Burke & Frees.

Once all 1,000 cards are sold, the flash sale will end.

Ammon added that other organizations have done similar initiatives around the country to boost local businesses during the pandemic. She said the district was confident the cards would sell in the first flash sale, but they sold more quickly than expected.

“To sell 1,000 cards in 27 hours was incredible,” she said.

Ammon added that round one participating businesses were happy with the results.

“I had the fun job of hand delivering checks to participating businesses after round one closed,” she said. “In fact, all of the businesses that participated in round one are joining us again for round two, plus some new ones.”

The gift card initiative is part of the District’s Let’s Go KOP — a marketing and advertising campaign to welcome the public back to safely enjoying all that King of Prussia has to offer, including hotels, restaurants, retailers and attractions.

King of Prussia District is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, special services organization. The organization engages public and private partners to collaboratively improve the economic environment in King of Prussia. More information can be found at visitKOP.com.
