KING OF PRUSSIA » The King of Prussia District has announced it will hold a third and final gift card f lash sale, starting at noon on Tuesday, Oct. 20. The sale is part of the organization’s Get More, KOP campaign and is the latest in a series of gift card f lash sales to support businesses in King of Prussia during the coronavirus pandemic.

As of Friday af ternoon, 47 businesses have signed on to participate in the sale, including restaurants, retailers, hotels, enter tainment venues and service providers.

During this third and f inal round, the cards will be sold for $ 25 each and will be upgraded to a value of $ 40, courtesy of King of Prussia District and sponsor Anthology of King of Prussia.

“We decided that we wanted to end this promotion with a bang,” said Rachel Ammon, marketing and communications director for the King of Prussia District. “Upgrading the upgrade seemed like just the way to do it.”

During the f lash sale, 1,000 gift cards will be available for purchase on the King of Prussia District website Visit KOP. com/ get more KOP starting at 12 p. m. on Oct. 20. Once all 1,000 cards are sold, the flash sale will end. Gift cards will be fulfilled by each business and will be valid for the King of Prussia locations only.

Get More, KOP has proven to be a successful campaign for King of Prussia District, with round one selling out in 27 hours in August, and round two selling out in September in just two hours. In each of the f irst two rounds, the cards were purchased for $ 25 but carried a $ 10 bonus per card.

“Round two sold out in less than two hours, so I think it is safe to say that people are excited about this promotion. We are hear ing that many people are starting holiday shopping early, so hopefully this extra $ 15 per card will spur them on to give the gift of KOP this holiday season,” Ammon said.

The first two rounds of the flash sales generated a total economic impact of $ 70,000, according to Ammon.

“The business owners continue to be very supportive of this promotion, with all of the businesses from round one and two joining us again, along with a few new businesses,” she added.

Ammon had previously said that this is the perfect time to suppor t businesses that have been going through a dif ficult time during the pandemic. The gift card flash sale, she said, “makes it easy for them” to support small and local businesses.

While the sales have been successful, Ammon said the time is right to bring the promotion to a close.

“As we are getting close to the holidays, we know that our businesses are beginning to launch their own promotions. We want to amplify their promotions and not compete with them,” she said

The gift card initiative is part of the District’s Let’s Go KOP — a marketing and advertising campaign to welcome the public back to safely enjoying all that King of Prussia has to offer, including hotels, restaurant s, retai lers and attractions.
