Sandler to film movie in Coatesville
COATESVILLE » Adam Sandler, who has starred in scores of Hollywood movies, including “Happy Gilmore,” “The Wedding Singer” and “Uncut Gems,” will be shooting scenes for an upcoming Netflix movie at the Coatesville High School gymnasium beginning Oct. 26.
Sandler, 54, will be shooting scenes for the movie “Hustle” for about 10 days, according to published reports.
For their part in allowing Sandler to film there, Coatesville High School will receive $ 81,170, along with a new scoreboard, according to Lancasteronline. The contract between the school and Back Street Productions LLC has been labeled confidential.
In the movie, Sandler plays an American basketball scout who, after being unjustly fired, discovers a talented player abroad and decides to bring himto the U. S. to prove that they both have what it takes to make it in the NBA.
Sandler recently received the best reviews of his career for his 2019 dark comedy “Uncut Gems,” which also earned him a Spirit Award.
Sandler is best known for his comedic roles including “Billy Madison” ( 1995), “Happy Gilmore” ( 1996), “The Waterboy” ( 1998), “The Wedding Singer” ( 1998), “Big Daddy” ( 1999), “Mr. Deeds” ( 2002), “50 First Dates” ( 2004), “The Longest Yard” ( 2005), “Click” ( 2006), “Grown Ups” ( 2010), “Just Go with It” ( 2011), “Grown Ups 2” ( 2013), “Blended” ( 2014), “Murder Mystery” ( 2019) and “Hubie Halloween” ( 2020). He also voices Dracula in the Hotel Transylvania franchise ( 2012– present).
“Hustle,” directed by Jeremiah Zager, has no release date.
Students at Coatesville High School will return to in- school education Nov. 9.
