Catch some ‘ Holiday Magic at Brandywine’

Here are some events scheduled for this weekend throughout the region:

• Brandywine River Museum of Art, Chadds Ford, presents “Holiday Magic at Brandywine,” running through Jan. 10. Slightly modified this year to provide a safe and socially distant experience, the Brandywine Railroad O- gauge display will feature model trains running on a thousand feet of track through a small village, a drive- in movie theater and a carnival. This year’s display also features new additions of two model train sets with layouts once owned by Nicky and Jamie Wyeth, sons of the renowned American artist Andrew Wyeth. Holiday offerings also include the return of artist and composer Ann Wyeth McCoy’s dollhouse, which features six rooms filled with three dozen dolls and hundreds of miniature objects. • The Music Performanc­e Trust Fund presents the Copeland String Quartet in a streaming concert live from the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel, Reading, today from noon to 1 p. m. Members of the quartet are all profession­al musicians who perform in various orchestras. The quartet performs extensivel­y in the tri- state area and enjoys a large audience in its home base, Church Of Holy City in Wilmington, Del. The concert will include classical string quartet repertoire, pieces by Rachmanino­v and Mendelssoh­n, jazzy tunes by George Gershwin, music by the “King of Ragtime,” Scott Joplin, a tango and more. • Black Walnut Winery, Sadsbury, is hosting Fall Sippin’ Funday on Sunday from 11 a. m. to 4 p. m. to benefit Sadsbury Fire Company. The event will include local craft vendors, music by VIP DJ Entertainm­ent and food available for purchase from the fire company.

• The Tailgate Under the Tent concert series at 118 North, Wayne, presents Zach Brock and Bob Lanzetti of Snarky Puppy today at 6: 15 p. m., DNR on Friday at 6 p. m. followed by Josh Phillip and Tyler Sensenig at 8: 15, and Springbroo­ke on Saturday at 6 p. m. followed by Muscle Tough at 8: 15. Cinema Drive- Ins presents two more nights of drive- in movies

in the parking lot of the Greater Philadelph­ia Expo Center at Oaks. “Mad Max: Fury Road” ( 2018) will be shown Friday at 7 p. m., and a doublefeat­ure of “Space Jam” ( 1996) and “A Star Is Born” ( 2018) on Saturday at 7 and 9 p. m. • Soul Joel’s Comedy Club and Lounge, 155 Railroad Plaza, Royersford, celebrates its first anniversar­y on Friday with two shows featuring David Attell at 6 and 9 p. m. under the heated tent in the parking lot. Keystone Record Collectors will host the Pennsylvan­ia Music Expo

features submitted works by area artists. In conjunctio­n, the guild is sponsoring a free talk by contempora­ry mixed media artist Elaine Soltis that will be held online via Zoom on Tuesday, Nov. 17, at 7 p. m. Soltis will be answering questions about how she discovered art and how she has developed her characteri­stic style. • William Rose & Friends will present a livestream concert from Kennett Flash in Kennett Square on Friday at 8 p. m. It will be available to stream on the Kennett Flash Facebook Live and YouTube pages. Rose is a Kenett- based singersong­writer whose many music projects and bands have included Rose Project, Flying Islands and Somerhill. Suggested donation is $ 15. The Flash also will present a Virtual Open Mic on Sunday at 7 p. m., with a suggested donation of $ 5.
