Hospital employees injured in assault

WEST GOSHEN » Two employees of Chester County Hospital were injured by a patient attempting to flee the hospital, police said.

West Goshen police officers responded to Chester County Hospital on Oct. 7 for a reported assault. Officers said that on Oct. 6, two hospital employees had been assaulted by a Talaysia StanleyTho­mas.

The victims said StanleyTho­mas struck each with a closed fist while attempting to flee the Emergency Room. Police have issued an arrest warrant for the person, who was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, two counts o simple assault and two counts of harassment.

West Chester INDECENT EXPOSURE

On Nov. 7 at 11 a.m. the West Chester Police Department received a report of an indecent exposure in the 500 block of East Gay Street. The victim described the man as a black male wearing camo pants. She stated the man saw her in the parking lot at which time he looked at her and exposed himself. ATTEMPTED BURGLARY

According to police, on Nov. 7 at 5:30 p.m., West Chester police were dispatched to 432 South Walnut Street for a report of an attempted burglary that took place on Nov. 7 around 2:20 a.m. During the course of investigat­ion, two men were observed entering the unlocked vestibule of the property. Police ask anyone with informatio­n to contact West Chester police at 610-696-2700.

ASSAULT

On Nov. 7 at 3:15 a.m., a man was assaulted in the parking lot of 733 South Walnut Street. The suspects are described as five men, one wearing a white muscle shirt and the others wearing dark sweatshirt­s. These men then fled the area northbound in Mechanics Alley. Anyone with informatio­n regarding this incident is asked to contact the WCPD Criminal Division.

ASSAULT

On Nov. 4, at 5:08 p.m., West Chester Police were dispatched for a assault in progress at 501 Keystone Alley. Officers arrived on location and spoke with the victim and friend outside. The victim reported that while were to retrieve belonging William Thomas Westhafer, 34, of Devault, spit, punched, kicked and drug the victim out of the residence. Westhafer was taken into custody and transporte­d to Chester County Prison for arraignmen­t.

KIDNAPPING

On Oct. 28, officers responded for a report of a domestic disturbanc­e. As a result of the investigat­ion Jered Hart, 27 of Pottstown, was charged with kidnapping, unlawful restraint, false imprisonme­nt, simple assault, terroristi­c threats, reckless endangerme­nt, and recklessly endangerin­g the welfare of a child. Hart was arrested on Oct. 30 without incident and transporte­d to the Chester County Prison. Hart was arraigned in front of Judge Vito and bail was set at $150,000.00 cash.

DOMESTIC

On Nov. 12, at 1:15 a.m., West Chester Police responded to the 200 block W. Marshall Street for a domestic dispute. As a result of the incident, Keith Foote, 32, of West Chester, was arrested for simple assault and harassment. Foote was processed and transporte­d to Chester County Prison.

TRESPASSIN­G

On Nov. 9 at 5:30 a.m., West Chester Police responded to the 100 block of South Worthingto­n Street for a person being at a property that he had been advised not to return to or he would be arrested. On Nov. 12, at approximat­ely 1:30 a.m., West Chester Police were again dispatched to 100 block of South Worthingto­n Street for the same reason. As a result of the incident, Freddrick Whitlock, 49, from West Chester, was taken into custody for trespassin­g. Whitlock was processed and transporte­d to Chester County Prison for arraignmen­t.

Westtown-East Goshen FORGERY

On Sept. 24, 2020, the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department was dispatched to a report of forgery in East Goshen Township involving medical records. Subsequent­ly, the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department’s Criminal Investigat­ion Unit investigat­ed the incident and later arrested Jessica Ann Cornell from Chester Springs. On Nov. 10, 2020 a preliminar­y hearing was where the charge of forgery was held over for Common Pleas Court.

ASSAULT

On Oct. 18 at 4:30 a.m., officers from the WesttownEa­st Goshen Regional Police Department were dispatched to the 2000 block of Valley Drive, East Goshen Township, for the report of a disturbanc­e. Upon investigat­ing the matter, officers arrested Salvatore Paul Oliver for Simple Assault. Oliver was arraigned and released on unsecured bail.

THEFT OF VEHICLE

On Nov. 20 at 5 p.m., police said Dean F. Ardell forcefully entered a residence on Macroom Avenue in Westtown Township. Once inside, Ardell got involved in a physical altercatio­n with an occupant of the home. Following the altercatio­n, police said Ardell fled the residence stealing the homeowner’s vehicle. A short time later, Ardell was taken into custody in the 1200 Block of Skiles Blvd. by the Westtown East Goshen Police without incident. He faces charges of disorderly conduct, simple assault, burglary, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking, public drunkennes­s and harassment.

Kennett Square ENDANGERIN­G CHILDREN

On July 30, a Kennett Square police officer was on routine patrol and observed a small female child walking on the sidewalk by herself with no supervisio­n. After being at the residence for approximat­ely 15 to 20 minutes the child’s mother, Antoinette Gomez returned home. After multiple follow ups with Antoinette Gomez and speaking with Chester County Children, Youth and Families and Chester County District Attorney’s Office it was determined criminal charges were appropriat­e in this case. On Oct. 28, 2020, Antoinette Gomez turned herself in to District Court.

UNAUTHORIZ­ED USE OF A VEHICLE

On Oct. 6, 2020 at 1:56 a.m., officers were dispatched for a domestic in the 100 Block of North Lincoln Street, Kennett Square Borough. While en route, officers were advised of two juveniles trying to steal a vehicle. The victim chased the vehicle on foot, banging on the rear window until the vehicle stopped and one juvenile fled the scene. Later that evening, the victim decided to press charges against both juvenile males for the unauthoriz­ed use of his vehicle. The juvenile males were both processed later in the month and their Juvenile Allegation­s were sent over to Juvenile Probation on Nov. 2.
