Robert “Bob” W. Levenite

Robert “Bob” W. Levenite, 92, of Coatesville, died Thursday, January 28, 2021. He was the loving husband of the late Steffie Levenite, his high school sweetheart, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage until her passing in 2008.

Born in Modena, he was the son of the late Walter J. and Clara McWilliams Levenite. Bob graduated from Coatesville Area Senior High School in 1947. After graduating, he joined the Army, serving four years in the Artillery division including a tour of duty during the Korean War. After his service, Bob spent his entire career at Lukens Steel working primarily as a millwright until his first retirement. He later returned to Lukens as a security guard at the mill until permanently retiring to spend more time with his family.

Bob was a loyal member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, the Moose Lodge, VFW, and West End Fire Company.

Bob always gave all he had for his family and loved spending time with them. One of his greatest joys in life was being “Pop-Pop” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He kept his mind sharp by reading the newspaper daily cover to cover (including all the ads) and completing countless word search puzzles. Never failing to mail in his entry, Bob was convinced he would be the next Publisher’s Clearing House winner!

Bob was preceded in death by his siblings Gwendolyn Wells, Harold Levenite, and Audrey Levenite. He is survived by his two daughters: Andrea Levenite, with whom he lived, and Lucinda Kousisis and her husband, Stamatios; a sister-in-law: Mildred “Babes” Horenci; two granddaughters: Elana Scelzo and her husband, Brian and Rebecca Ficca and her husband, Matt; and two great-grandchildren: Aubrey Scelzo and Jackson Ficca.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 3, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 404 Charles Street, Coatesville. A visitation will be held for family and friends from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 1060 W. Lincoln Highway, COATESVILLE. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Coatesville.

Memorial contributions in Bob’s memory may be made to St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 404 Charles Street, Coatesville, PA 19320.
