Carol Conrad Berzon, 86, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 20th in Fernandina Beach, Florida.

She was born July 10th, 1934 in Wilmington, De., to the late David Oliver Conrad and Grace Fahrney Conrad.

Mom attended Mount Pleasant High School in Wilmington, De. She also attended Western Maryland College, University of Delaware and West Chester University achieving degrees in Education and Early Childhood Education.

Carol’s working life was diverse and touched many lives. Candy Striper (volunteer) with terminally ill patients in Hagerstown, Md., as well as teaching second graders in Hagerstown. She then moved on to Kennett Square, Pa., with her three sons. Carol worked for the Kennett Paper, owned her own gift shop (The Comfy Dump), was on the board for the Mushroom Festival as well as playing Mrs. Claus to her husband Michael Berzon for the yearly Christmas parade. Mom was also first female president of Lions Club in her district of Pennsylvan­ia. Mom remained civically active after moving to North East, Md., where she and her husband Michael worked on array of local fundraiser­s.

Mom’s love of her surroundin­gs lead to trips in the car, sometimes without a chosen destinatio­n, adventures that she shared with her sons. Mom and Michael also enjoyed their home away from home in Corolla, NC and their loving dogs.

She is preceded in death by her husband Michael Berzon and the father of her three sons, David Lee Tait.

Mom is survived by her three sons, David Tait of Fernandina Beach, Fl., Stephen Tait of Middletown, De., and John Tait of Newark, De., Michael’s children Chris Berzon and Ailsa Pujol of Dallas, Tx. and nine adoring grandchild­ren. Her family will miss her so much. In lieu of flowers please consider donation to Alzheimer’s research.
