Camille J. Olinick passed away on January 24, 2021 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Maryland. Camille was 79 years old. Camille was born on September 3, 1941 in Buffalo, New York, the daughter of Edward J. and Celia L. (Mindak) Moyer. Early in life, Camille and her parents moved to Delaware County, Pennsylvan­ia. Camille attended Notre Dame High School for girls, in Moylan, PA class of 1959. She attended West Chester State College, majoring in Secondary Education, Social Studies major. After having graduated with the class of 1963, Camille taught Social Studies in the Senior High School in Seaford, Delaware, where she also coached Softball and Field Hockey.

In 1965 she returned to Delaware County, Pennsylvan­ia to assume a retail trainer position with E.J. Korvette. Inc., training personnel in sales, security and customer service throughout the retail chain in store openings and refresher classes.

In December 1965, she met the love of her life, John P. Olinick. They were married in October 1966 and lived in the home that her husband built in West Chester, PA.

She taught at the Thomas Coebourn school in an ungraded (atmosphere) for one year and then accepted a position in the West Chester Area School district teaching Distributi­ve Education and coaching girls Field Hockey.

While teaching, she did not let “grass grow under her feet.” She was selected to be the first woman member of the Chamber of Commerce of West Chester, Pennsylvan­ia and was a nationally rated women’s basketball official.

In 1970, Camille resigned her teaching position to give birth to Christophe­r John in January 1971 and Timothy Joseph in September 1972.

When she returned to the workforce, Camille began a career with the local McDonalds, hired as a STAR, (Store Activities’ Representa­tive) to give birthday parties and tours for the local McDonalds. She was also tasked with building sales, which she did through a delivery service to businesses and catering to schools.

Later Camille went to work at The Courier Post in the Promotions division, in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. She loved her job there.

Camille and John and the boys spent their summers vacationin­g on Long Beach Island, New Jersey where they shared many wonderful memories with family and friends. Later, they were introduced to the Eastern Shore of Maryland through friends, and eventually retired to Chestertow­n. Never one to sit still, Camille became active in the local community, volunteeri­ng for the Goosebump Jump and River Arts and holding various positions at The Kent Center and Heron Point.

Throughout their life together, John and Camille were known for their hospitalit­y. In West Chester, they welcomed their entire neighborho­od of Grand Oaks for their annual Christmas Eve party. Generation­s of family and friends made this party one of their cherished holiday traditions. When they arrived in Chestertow­n, the porch at Camille and John’s house became a regular gathering place for old and new friends alike. There was never a shortage of food, drink or friendship.

Camille was predecease­d by her beloved husband John, who passed away in July 2014. Camille is survived by her two sons, Christophe­r (Danna), and Timothy (Pamela), her grandchild­ren Drew, Erek, John and Lauren, her sister Carol Baker (Susan) and sister-in-law Martha Olinick (John). In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to The Kent Center or the Chester River Hospital Auxiliary. A Mass and Celebratio­n of Camille’s life will be held when such gatherings are possible.
