Royal Farms offers a wellness bonus
Employees vaccinating against the coronavirus are eligible
BALTIMORE » Royal Farms is offering a $50 wellness bonus to each of its employees that receives a vaccine against COVID-19. The bonus will be available to employees through the end of 2021.
The company operates 240 convenience store locations throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. It has 20 Pennsylvania locations including one in Chester County (Downingtown); three in Montgomery County (Collegeville, Colmar, Norristown); and four in Delaware County (Aston, Broomall, Glenolden and Ridley Park).
“Employees have worked under some uncertain and often stressful conditions and have helped make it possible for the company to continue serving the need of the public,” John Kemp, Royal Farms president, said in a press release. “Royal Farms believes it is important that all its essential workers are vaccinated because getting the COVID-19 vaccine gives an added layer of protection against COVID-19 and could also protect coworkers and their own families.”
Royal Farms has taken preventive measures against COVID-19 throughout the pandemic to assure the safety of staff and customers. Among the measures are: including daily temperature checks, installation of protective barriers at all stores, following social distancing guidelines for customers and staff, and wearing protective masks and gloves.
According to Brian Roche, HR director of Royal Farms, the wellness bonus will be paid once the employee completes the full vaccination schedule.
“The health and safety of all employees continues to be Royal Farms’ priority and,” he said.
Once employees have received the vaccine, they can get an official CDC COVID-19 vaccination sticker to wear if they choose, the company said.
Each Royal Farms location follows cleaning procedures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the company said. Extra attention is given to high-touch areas, including fuel dispensers, door handles, and deli ordering kiosks.
