Backyard BBQ festival set April 25
After missing a year with the pandemic, The Chester County Council, BSA will host the Brandywine Backyard Barbeque Festival April 25 in New Garden.
The festival is an outdoor community event featuring live music by local favorites: The Late Ambitions, Younger Than Charlie and Ol’442. Bring a comfortable camp chair or blanket and relax to a mix of classic and current music.
The food trucks will sell a wide assortment of food, with an emphasis on barbeque, including 22BBQ, Uncle John’s BBQ, Baked of West Chester, On The Roll, Sugar Shack, Chuck’s Barbeque and Rita’s Water Ice. There will be something for everyone to enjoy.
Beverages will be sold by Braeloch Brewing Company and Harvest Ridge Winery.
The event will be at the spacious and beautiful New Garden Township Park, 8938 Gap-Newport Pike, Landenberg. The park is a perfect location for an event because of its wide open space and beautiful setting. Social distancing and COVID19 safety guidelines, in effect at the time of the event, will be observed.
In prior years, the festival featured activities for kids, craft vendors and a barbeque competition. Those won’t be part of the Festival this year. They had to be put on hold because of Covid-19 precautions. There is hope that they will be part of the Festival next year.
Tickets for admission are $10 for adults, and $5 for kids 13 and under, and may be purchased onthe day of the event.
Food purchases are not included in the price of admission.
Proceeds will benefit local scouting programs through the Friends of Scouting Campaign of the ChesterCounty Council BSA.
