Emily Stanford Miller
Emily Stanford Miller, Honey Brook, PA, formerly of Canton, Eagles Mere and Hughesville, PA, died on February 19, 2021. Born in West Chester, PA in 1936, she was the daughter of the late Elsie (née Mills) and Reginald G. Stanford, Jr. Emily grew up on the family farm in Chester Springs, PA. She graduated in 1954 from Downingtown High School and earned a BS degree in education from West Chester State Teacher’s College PA (West Chester University). Emily was a special education teacher for the Downingtown, West Chester, and Coatesville School Districts while employed by the Chester County Intermediate Unit. After retirement, she volunteered in the East Lycoming School District. Emily enjoyed camping, traveling and riding motorcycles. Throughout her life, she was active in the Episcopal Church.
Emily was preceded in death by her loving husband, Neil H. Miller. She is survived by her stepson Charles E. (Kathy J.) Miller of Everett, PA; her step granddaughters, Tammy (Steve) and Debra (Adam); and step great grandchildren, Erin and Nicholas. Emily was preceded in death by her eight siblings. Emily was the aunt of numerous devoted nieces and nephews on whom she had a profound impact; many great-nieces and nephews as well as great-great nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to participate in Emily’s Celebration of Life Service at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Exton, PA on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 11am.
