Yellow Springs Art Show to be held in person this year

CHESTER SPRINGS >> The 48th annual Yellow Springs Art Show has been expanded this year and will be held in person. Scroll or stroll your way through the galleries of the first-ever hybrid event.

The art show opens to the public, in person and online at 10 a.m. Saturday and runs through May 23. The 2021 show will be running two weeks longer than usual. This year’s show includes 187 juried artists featuring 2-D and 3-D works from a wide range of media and pricing.

Events include: • Art Around the Village – May 2, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Join us for an outdoor event in the village featuring “Art Around the Village!” This is your chance to explore the beautiful grounds and see some of the artists in action painting en plein air! There will also be a live pottery demonstration, and a pottery sale from the Chester Springs Studio. Bring a blanket and a picnic lunch and enjoy live music from Chris Lebresco, and then visit the art show of course! Come and enjoy the beauty of springtime in the village.

• Mother’s Day Basket Silent Auction, May 2 – 9

There will be a silent auction with gift baskets for Mother’s Day. There will be a wide variety of wonderful baskets that Mom will love, and all proceeds benefit HYS! Auction opens at 10 a.m. May 2 and closes at 1 p.m. May 8.

The galleries in the Lincoln building will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Reservations are not required, and admission is free.

Occupancy is limited to 75 people, including staff and volunteers. Mask wearing, social distancing and other safety guidelines must be followed. Not all of the artwork will be featured online, so there will be additional works only available at HYS. Portfolio pieces (unframed originals and prints) will only be available in person.
