Kennett’s Ebaugh Ks 8 in three innings

Kennett’s Genevieve Ebaugh did a whole lot in just three innings of non-league softball action on Friday. The Blue Demons blasted Lower Merion 17-0 and Ebaugh had a memorable offensive outing and from the pitching circle. The junior starter fanned eight batters and did not surrender a single hit, and was also 2-for-4 at the plate and drove in five runs, including a home run. Teammate Hannah Slicer chipped in with three hits and three RBI. WEST CHESTER EAST 7, BISHOP SHANAHAN 0 >> Jess Gomez struck out nine and scattered three hits to get the complete game shutout. Mia Kulp and Allison Hill led the way with two hits and two runs batted in apiece. Alex Douglas added two hits for the Vikings.

DOWNINGTOW­N WEST 6, WEST CHESTER HENDERSON 5 (8 INNINGS) >> The Whippets scored a run in the bottom of the eighth inning to edge the Warriors. Taylor Pozner (3-for-4, 2 RBI), Lizzie Kern (two hits) and Morgan DeFreitas (two hits) were the offensive stars for West. Jordyn Melnick knocked in two runs for Henderson. AVON GROVE 20, COATESVILL­E 7 >> Ana DiCampli homered twice and drove in six runs to lead Avon Grove over Coatesvill­e. Brianna McKeown and Taylor Morris also homered for Avon Grove. Megan Kleckner homered twice, including a grand slam, and drove in five runs for Coatesvill­e.

Baseball

OXFORD 15, SUN VALLEY 5 (6 INNINGS) >> Austin Tipton had two hits including a 2-run homer to power the Hornets pat the Vanguards in ChesMont action. Oxford broke it open with a seven-run fourth inning. Connor Booth chipped in two hits and four runs batted in for the winners. COATESVILL­E 14, AVON GROVE 2 (6 INNINGS) >> The visiting Red Raiders rallied for seven runs in the sixth to complete the victory. Starter Will Dean went the distance, fanned 10 and got the win. Jake Stewart (three hits, 3 RBI) and Marc Garcia (two hits, 3 RBI) were the standouts at the plate for Coatesvill­e. FRIENDS CENTRAL 16, WESTTOWN 1 (5 INNINGS) >> The Moose managed just two hits and eventually dropped their first Friends League decision of the season. Westtown’s record is now 5-6 overall and 4-1 in the league.

Boys Lacrosse

BISHOP SHANAHAN 7, GREAT VALLEY 6 (OT) >> Colin McGrory scored in overtime to power the Eagles past the Patriots in Ches-Mont play. Darren Middleton had two goals and two assists for Great Valley, and keeper Nick Mort turned aside 13 shots. Brady Mitchell and August Flynn each chipped in with two goals to round out the scoring for the Pats. AVON GROVE 17, OXFORD 2 >> Trent Lucovich notched the hat trick and added an assist to power the Red Devils past the Hornets. Jake Vitone, Griffin Edwards, Keegan Quatman and Connor Walsh each added two goals for Avon Grove.
