Mark DiEuliis

-

Mark DiEuliis, 60, died unexpectedly of natural causes on April 27, 2021, at his home in Downingtown. He was born on November 19, 1960, in West Chester and lived, with the exception of 5 years in Tennessee, all of his life in and around Downingtown. Mark graduated from Downingtown High School in 1978. He loved flying, photography, all things electrical and mechanical, and especially computer technology and the mountain of information he could glean from it. He enjoyed watching the Phillies and complaining about the Eagles. Mark was good-looking, quiet, gentle, brilliant, and curious. You could talk with him about almost any subject and he would surprise you with facts, theories, and expert opinions. He was also a kind man who would help people, especially older people, when they needed it. He would often mow lawns, shovel snow, or apply his considerable handyman skills to their washers, dryers, plumbing, or anything else that needed fixing. (God love him!) He was caring and loyal to his parents and he took care of his mother during her last two years.

One of the things you noticed most about Mark was his humor. He was hilarious; funny right out of the box. When he was just a kid, the whole family would roar with laughter from his antics, comments, and one-liners at the dinner table. As an adult he left the antics behind (for the most part) and sharpened his wit to a razor’s edge. You considered yourself lucky if you could get him going on a subject and just listen to him soar. And by the end of it, your stomach hurt from laughing so hard and you were left wondering why he didn’t do stand-up comedy for a living. In recent years, he preferred to keep more to himself. Even then, if you ran into him on the street or while he was working on his perfectly quaffed lawn and deftly trimmed shrubs, he would smile sincerely and talk with you. He was a friendly, dear man who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mark’s parents, Anthony (Tony) and Mary Jo DiEuliis died before him. He leaves behind a brother, Val DiEuliis (Lynn) of Saint Paul, MN; a sister, Camille Sullivan (Bruce) of Palm Harbor, FL; aunts, Eleanor Hoeflich and Agnes (Dutchie) DiEuliis; and many dear cousins.

There will be no public funeral or interment because of the COVID pandemic, but the family plans to have a family and friends party someday— when life is a little more normal—to celebrate Mark. No gifts or flowers please. Mark would not have liked that. There are plenty of deserving charities if you are so inclined.
