Police seek trio who damaged tree in West Chester

WEST CHESTER » West Chester police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifyin­g the three people who destroyed a tree in the early morning hours of May 6 in the 50 block of Lacy Street. The crime was caught on home video surveillan­ce.

They are described as a white male wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and black shorts, a white male wearing yellow hooded sweatshirt and grey sweatpants, and a white female wearing a dark colored top and dark colored pants.

Anyone witnessing the crime or who has informatio­n on the three individual­s is asked to contact WCPD at 610-696-2700.

Kennett Square

HABITUAL OFFENDER » On Jan. 6, 2021 at 9:46 p.m., officers were conducting a speed enforcemen­t detail in the 600 block of West State Street in Kennett Square. Officers observed a vehicle traveling westbound at a high rate of speed, 44.536 mph, in a posted 25 mph zone. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of West Baltimore Pike. Upon making contact with the driver, later verbally identified as Michelle Wisniewski, it was discovered she did not have a valid driver’s license. Upon further investigat­ion, it was found that the operator was a habitual offender for driving with a license suspended for DUI reasons. Charges for Habitual Offender and other related traffic offenses were filed.

STOLEN VEHICLE » On April 6, 2021 at approximat­ely 1:43 p.m., officers were dispatched for a report involving a stolen vehicle from Hertz Corporatio­n. The 2020 Altima, which was rented on Dec. 16,2020 by Michele Minniti, 33 of Coatesvill­e, had never been returned on the date in which it was due back, despite attempts to contact her. The vehicle was entered into the National Crime Informatio­n Center as stolen. On April 9, 2021, Pennsylvan­ia State Police Avondale said they had located the vehicle in the Walmart parking lot in Oxford. Charges were filed and an arrest warrant was issued for Michele Minniti.

STOLEN DOG » On April 25, 2021 at 6:06 p.m., officers of the West Chester Police Department responded to 200 block North Darlington Street. Police said

Elizabeth Ashley Graham, 47, of West Chester, entered

a residence and removed a pet dog. Officers arrived on scene and after investigat­ion, determined that Elizabeth Ashley Graham had entered the residence without permission and

removed the dog. On May 4, 2021 an arrest warrant was issued, and Graham was taken into custody without incident. Graham arraigned for her charges. A preliminar­y hearing is

scheduled for May 14.

FIGHT >> On May 5 at 1:15 pm, officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of North Everhart Street for a disturbanc­e. After an investigat­ion it was determined

that a mutual combat fight took place between Karl McIntyre and Cody Mealy-McIntyre. Karl McIntyre, 40, of West Chester, and Cody Mealey- McIntyre, 21, of West Chester, were charged with simple assault.

Oxford

PURSUIT >> The Oxford Borough Police attempted to serve a felony warrant on Jason Samuel Shultz, 26, along the unit block of South Fourth Street. Shultz jumped out a second story window and fled from police. Hours later, officers observed Shultz driving a pickup truck and led police on a pursuit into the townships. The pursuit ended along the 200 block West Ridge Road, West Nottingham Township. Shultz suffered from multiple selfinflic­ted stab wounds and was transporte­d to the hospital. The Oxford Police were assisted by Pennsylvan­ia State Police.

Parkesburg

TRESPASS >> A Maryland man was charged after being called back to the apartment complex at 200 North Church Street on May 1 at 7:25 a.m. The man had been previously warned by police to vacate the property on April 30, after a trespassin­g complaint. He had returned to the complex and reportedly lock himself in one of the complex’s laundry rooms. Police located the man fleeing the area. He was taken into custody and arraigned before an on-call magistrate and remanded to the Chester County Prison after not posting bail. A preliminar­y hearing has been scheduled.

TRUCK STOLEN >> Police are investigat­ing an incident on W. Seventh Avenue that took place just after midnight on Monday, May 3. A resident of West Seventh Avenue parked their 2015 GMC pickup truck, leaving it unlocked with its keys in the vehicle. The truck was stolen from in front of the residence around midnight and later discovered damaged, abandoned and off the roadway in a wooded area of Highland Township, a short distance from the victim’s residence. Anyone with informatio­n is asked to contact the Parkesburg Police at 610-857-3535 to speak with Sergeant Moran.

Coatesvill­e

WARRANT ARREST >> On May 1, 2021 at 3:31 p.m., officers met with Darryl Butler in the area of Palmer Park. Butler was found to have an active bench warrant for retail theft and receiving stolen property. The warrant was confirmed and Butler was taken into custody. Butler was transporte­d to the Coatesvill­e Police Station where he was housed until the constable arrived.

State police Avondale

FRAUD >> A 53-year-old Pocopson Township woman told police that the landscaper she retained to work on her Pulaski Drive property had charged her twice through two different Venmo accounts. She tried to settle the matter directly with the contractor but to no avail, police said. The contractor told police he had no access to either account. The amount in question is $1,200. The investigat­ion continues.
