Dean’s slam, Ferguson’s walk-off lift Coatesvill­e

Will Dean tied the game with a grand slam in the sixth inning and Spencer Ferguson had the walk-off RBI in the eighth inning for Coatesvill­e in a 5-4 Ches-Mont League baseball win over Oxford on Tuesday afternoon. Alex Kuehn had three hits for the Red Raiders. Chris Walton and Joey Morton had two RBI each for Oxford. AVON GROVE 7, WEST CHESTER HENDERSON 6 >> Jacob Stretch and Justin Nole had two RBI as the Red Devils edged Henderson. Nick Noga and Ethan Lytle combined on the mound for Avon Grove.

Softball

OXFORD 8, BISHOP SHANAHAN 1

>> Angela Beadle had three RBI and Cecelia Figueroa had three hits for the Hornets in the ChesMont win. Maddie Frank went the distance in the circle for Oxford, striking out five for the win.

COATESVILL­E 9, SUN VALLEY 2 >> Ashlynn Sherman struck out eight and did not allow an earned run and also helped her cause at the plate by hitting a home run to lead Coatesvill­e. Emma Friel doubled three times and drove in three runs, Caitlyn Hinton added three hits, including a triple, and Cheyenne Whitehead had two hits including a home run to pace the offense.

Boys Lacrosse

AVON GROVE 9, GREAT VALLEY 8 >> Trent Lucovich and Connor Walsh had two goals each for the Red Devils in the win. JAke Vitone, Preston Boyd, Griffin Edwards, Mike Villa and Sean Adams all scored for Avon Grove. Brady Mitchell led Great Valley with three goals while Darren Middleton added two.

WEST CHESTER RUSTIN 18, OXFORD 4 >> Owen Murray and Antonio Santangelo each had five goals and Jake Jackson had three more in the Rustin win.

DOWNINGTOW­N WEST 7, UNIONVILLE 4 >> The Whippets jumped to an early 6-0 lead and held on for the win, with Michael Straub leading the way with three goals, an assist, and a 12-for-15 day on faceoffs. Bret Bergey tallied two goals and an assist and Kevin Lundmark rounded out the scoring with two goals. Zach Rossman stood tall in goal with 13 saves.

Girls Lacrosse

BISHOP SHANAHAN 14, WEST CHESTER HENDERSON 9 >> Soph Lymberis had three goals, Silvia Baptista and Lila Ceribelli added two, and goalies CeCe Newman and Mckenna Bille had nine combined saves for the Eagles. Delaney Turner had three goals, and Grace DePrisco and Rylee Bauer added two goals each in the losing effort for Henderson. WEST CHESTER RUSTIN 13, OXFORD 5 >> Alyssa Welhaf had three goals in the losing effort for Oxford. Rustin scorers were not provided. CONESTOGA 18, HARRITON 2 >> Kate Galica and Anna DeVuono had four goals each for the Pioneers in the runaway Central League win. Rachel Clark and Megan Marengo had three goals each.
