Pennsylvania sees record gaming revenue in October
It is a 33% increase from October 2020
Gaming revenue for the state’s casinos and fantasy contests was a record $426 million in October, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board said this week.
It is a 33% increase from the October 2020, and beats the previous high set in July. Total tax revenue was $172.3 million.
For properties owned by Wyomissing-based Penn National Gaming Inc., revenue at two of its casinos saw double-digit increases over the year.
The Hollywood Casino at Penn National in Dauphin County had total revenue of $57 million, a 63% increase from October 2020. Internet gaming brought in a majority of the money, netting $40.6 million. Traditional gaming such as slot machines and table games brought in $15.1 and $2.4 million, respectively. The only negative was from sports wagering, which lost $1.1 million during the month.
For the Hollywood Casino at the Meadows in Washington County, total revenue was $24.3 million, a year-over-year increase of 15.3%. The majority came from slots, which was $14.1 million. Sports wagering netted $7.1 million.
The Hollywood Casino York, which opened in August, had revenue of $7.3 million, with $5.6 million from slots.
Online sports wagering netted $346,496 for the Hollywood Casino Morgantown. The brickand-mortar building in Caernarvon Township is scheduled to open later this year. Among regional casinos: Parx Casino, Bensalem, Bucks County, had overall revenue of $57.3 million as slots revenue was $33.6 million and table games were at $18.4 million. IGaming was at $3.8 million.
Rivers Casino Philadelphia had revenue of $46.2 million. IGaming brought in most of the revenue at $26.3 million, while slots were at $10.4 million and table games at $8.1 million.
Valley Forge Casino, King of Prussia, Montgomery County, had revenue of $42.8 million. Much of that came from its IGaming platform with revenue of $18.7 million. By comparison, slots brought in $9.1 million. Sports wagering was a bright spot at $11.6 million.
Wind Creek, Bethlehem, had revenue of $46.2 million. It did well with slots, which accounted for $23.3 million, and table games which brought in $21.6 million.
Live! Casino Philadelphia raked in $18.7 million, with $10 million from slots and $7.4 million from table games.
Harrah’s Philadelphia, Chester, had revenue of $19.3 million. The bulk of that figure came from slots, which brought in $11.7 million.
Video Gaming Terminal revenue was $3.3 million, with $2.1 million going to Penn Nationalowned Marquee by Penn.
