Tinseltown Holiday Spectacular comes to Oaks
The familyfriendly outdoor holiday extravaganza runs through Jan. 2.
The Tinseltown Holiday Spectacular runs from Friday through Sunday from 5 to 10 p.m. and continues through Jan. 2 at the Fairgrounds at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at Oaks.
Tinseltown is a brandnew outdoor experience where guests can stroll through a winter wonderland of lights, check off their holiday shopping list, dine on festive treats and beverages, skate on a synthetic ice surface and much more.
This illuminated wonderland will showcase light sculptures and displays powered by more than 1.2 million light bulbs. Along the way, guests will find larger-than-life sculptures, including a 60-foot light tunnel, glowing baubles and Santa’s sleigh.
Tinseltown will also showcase some of Philadelphia’s most beloved landmarks and personalities in lights, including a massive, walk-through Liberty Bell, illuminations representing Philly sports teams and a few more holiday-inspired displays.
In addition to the lights, this wintry landscape will offer a selection of concession options where patrons can satisfy their seasonal cravings with culinary treats and holiday spirits. Food items include Blitzen’s Bavarian Pretzel Sticks, Fa La La La Funnel Cake, The Grinch’s Grilled Cheese Panini and Buddy’s Maple Bourbon Chicken Ciabatta.
Spiked Warm Cider,
Christmapolitans, Gingerbread White Russians and a lineup of seasonal adult beverages will be available in addition to some good old hot cocoa for the kids. The full menu of offerings will be announced in the coming weeks.
Guests at Tinseltown can also enjoy Mistletoe Marketplace, a vast artisan village where patrons can complete their holiday shopping list at a variety of vendor kiosks offering festive goods and unique holiday gifts such as handcrafted ornaments, custom artwork, wintertime clothing and decor.
Rudolph’s Rink, Tinseltown’s eco-friendly synthetic skating rink, will operate with ticketed, 30-minute skating sessions every night. Guests are encouraged to make skate reservations at the time of ticket purchase with walk-up inperson sales based on availability.
Photos with Santa will be offered, and families are invited to visit Mrs. Claus’ reading room, where she’ll share the magic of the season with live readings of her favorite holiday stories.
