Margaret “Peggy” Graves Brown, 93 of West Chester, PA died Monday August 22, 2022, at the Pocopson Home in West Chester.

She was the wife of the late James “Bus” Walker Brown, Sr.

Born October 25, 1928 in West Chester, PA she was the daughter of the late Edward Lloyd and the late Martha Dennison Bond.

Peggy grew up in Kennett Square. After moving to West Chester, she became a house mother at the former School of Nursing at Chester County Hospital.

Peggy appreciate­d the paintings of local artists, especially those of Andrew Wyeth and Horace Pippin. She enjoyed reading, going out to dinner with family and friends, car rides after church and shopping at thrift stores.

Peggy will always be remembered for her great sense of humor and the pure joy that came to her when being surrounded by her family.

She is survived by her children; Edward R. (Sandra) Graves, Brenda G. Boddy, Cynthia M. Ray, Rosemarie L. (David) Snedeker, sister, Joyce I. Dennison (Amanda), brother James Watson, grandchild­ren, great grandchild­ren, great great grandchild­ren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by son, Dana C. Graves, daughter, Natalie Graves and sisters Clara Boyer and Elva Westley.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Memorial Service on September 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel AME Church, 301 E. Linden Street, Kennett Square, PA. Interment will be in Private. In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons may be made to Bethel AME Church.
